Delicious. I love recipes with cream of tartar. Even better the next day.

Swedish Sticky Chocolate Cake (Kladdkaka)

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2015
Truthfully, I decided to make this because kladdkaka was served in an episode of the TV show Archer (Season 1, "Killing Utne"). I'm so glad I did. If you've ever wanted to eat warm brownie mix, this is the recipe for you. I sprinkle just a little powdered sugar on top right after it comes out of the oven and serve it with coffee or milk. I recommend eating it while watching Archer.

Spinach and Bacon Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2015
This recipe is delicious, but the ingredient proportions are crazy. Maybe if you really use frozen spinach and thaw and drain it, you can get ten ounces of spinach into a single pie crust, but who wants to eat frozen spinach? I use about six ounces of fresh baby spinach, and there's still enough filling to fill a pie and a half, which leads to my other solution: Sometimes I use nine eggs, two full cups of cream, a second pie crust, and just put it all in a nine by thirteen casserole dish. It's good enough to serve to guests.

President Ford's Braised Eye Round Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2014
This recipe is absolutely awful. My boyfriend (who is not a reviewer, so I'll share his opinion for him) described it as "disgusting" and wouldn't eat a second hite. We both felt that the sauce was somehow to blame. The flavor was ... musty. It tasted like something old, something that would be served in Oliver Twist's nursing home. We followed the recipe exactly. I blame President Ford.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2014
I made a few changes and one major mistake, so it might be my fault that this recipes was delicious but not mind-blowing. It was almost mind-blowing. It was . . . mind breezing. I left out the onion because I'm really not into onion and I left out the garlic and herb feta, because it just sounded kind of gross. I'm also kind of ishy on spinach, so I pre-cooked the spinach it by sauteing it in a little bit of butter, as per my mother's suggestions. This was a mistake. The spinach became way too wet, and I couldn't get the quiche to cook firm. In spite of that, it tasted very good. My other issue with this recipe is that there's no way you can fit all of this in one pie crust. Do like another review recommended: double the recipe and make three pies. You'll end up eating them all.

Scottish Shortbread IV

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2014
I used LauraCA1212's suggestions, adding vanilla and a little salt (I cut the recipes into fourths, so I only used a pinch). This was delicious and very satisfying. I would have given it five stars, except that I think it needed a little more liquid. It crumbled coming out of the pan and had to be eaten with a spoon. But the flavor was so good I didn't mind. The brown sugar is a great improvement over other recipes, and I loved how buttery this shortbread tasted. I will certainly make it again.

Avon's End of Summer Sunday Morning Peach Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2014
These were delicious. I did make one major mistake though, which I caution others against: Don't use canned peaches. My grocery store didn't have any fresh ones that were ripe, so I used the canned peaches. The result was that these never cooked properly. They were still great, though. I'll make them again in peach season.

Corn Dog Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2014
Okay, so, Note to self: Do not make this recipe using mini bundt pants instead of baking tins. The result will still be delicious, and also hilarious, but it will fall apart and not be an acceptable thing to take to your boyfriend's monthly Dungeons & Dragons game. Seriously, though, I couldn't believe how good this recipe was. I ate two of them (even though I'm allergic to corn and suffered for it the next day). They were amazing. Aside from the bad pan decision, the only things I changed were using only eight hot dogs (because they come in packs of eight, and who needs seven left over hot dogs?) and I cut them up into little bites so they infused the whole muffin with hot dog beef flavor. I had no idea you could get real corn dog flavor at home. If you like corn dogs, you will love these.

Carrot Souffle with Brown Sugar

This soufflé has become a staple at my Thanksgiving table. It's absolutely delicious and surprisingly easy. I wouldn't count it as a veggie, but it's well worthy of dessert.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2014
This recipe is amazing. I've made a lot of sugar cookies, but this quickly became my favorite recipe. I will say that it isn't the sweetest sugar cookie recipe around. It has more of a butter cookie flavor. But it tastes amazing, especially with buttercream frosting, which will sweeten it up plenty.

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew

It was nothing but meat flavored potato mush. Then I made it again using the most popular modifications, and it was delicious. Maybe a bit too much rosemary.

Cream Cheese Brownies III

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2014
They aren't chocolaty, they aren't cream cheesy, and they definitely aren't the brownies in the picture. I tried the recipe a second time, using 12 ounces of nestle toll house semi-sweet chips and six aounces of cream cheese, and they came out pretty good except that they were over cooked along the crusts and undercooked in the middle. And they do sort of taste just like chocolate chips. All things considered, rather than trying to adjust this recipe, I recommend just finding a better one.
