Fast, easy and delicious. Followed recipe as written, left it a little chunky, and served with shredded cheddar cheese on top. Mmmmmm

Butternut Squash Soup with a Kick

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
Easy and delicious. I add the thyme with the other ingredients rather than using it as a garnish. Doesn't need the sour cream.

Fennel Risotto

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
Tasty. I thought the amount of fennel would be too much, but it isn't. I did find it too rich with the whipping cream so now I don't use it at all, I just increase the amount of broth. It still comes out creamy.

Gluten-Free White Bread for Bread Machines

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
I can't express how happy I am to have found this recipe. It's such a joy to have a slice of bread that tastes so good after years of going without. The proportion of ingredients is perfect. The only thing I do differently is I mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl first before adding it to the wet ingredients. Also, as soon as the machine starts mixing I help it along with a rubber spatula as my machine does not do a good job. I always find gluten free bread tastes best when toasted.

Good. Added pepper. Baked at 400 degrees. Tastes better with a little sour cream on the side.

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
Excellent. I make these often. We don't eat much meat so I use half the amount of bacon and we love cheese so I add more cheddar than called for.

Tex-Mex Burger with Cajun Mayo

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2006
Excellent. I use pickled jalapenos from a jar since I always have them on hand. Even my daughter loves these burgers, and she's a picky eater.

Grandmother's Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 21, 2005
This cheesecake is delicious. I only gave it 4 stars because 500 degrees for 15 minutes made the top of the cheesecake very brown, almost burnt. I had to cover the top with foil. Next time I'll try it at 400 degrees. Also I didn't bother with the pastry trimmings as stated in step 5, I used almost all of it in step one. This makes it much easier.

Brisket with BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: May 21, 2005
DELICIOUS! I've made this several times. I think it's better if you remove the pan drippings before adding the bbq sauce. I know that doesn't sound right, you'd think the drippings give more flavour, but with the drippings the sauce is too thin and not as intense flavoured.

Melt-away Strawberry Shortcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2004
It's amazing how something so quick and so easy can taste soooo good! Since fresh strawberries aren't always available, I substitute thawed frozen strawberries in syrup.

Roast Pork with Maple and Mustard Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2004
This is a very good recipe. I used a pork butt roast, covered with foil in a 300F oven for 3 hours. The meat was soft as butter. The sauce is very sweet so I only used half the amount, and just drizzled a bit of it on the meat when serving.

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2004
This is a very good pie. I used 1/4C. flour and 1/4C. cornstartch. I cooked the filling on top of a double boiler over medium heat. It only took about 10 minutes for the mixture to thicken. I used unsweetened coconut, so it wasn't too sweet. This pie is quite rich so the serving size can be smaller than other pies.

Key Lime Pie I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2004
Excellent recipe. Very easy and tasty. The only thing I changed is that I don't freeze the pie, I refrigerate it, I think it has a nicer texture that way.
