Believe the hype. These were the most popular dish at the party I brought them to. I followed the advice of others by letting the bacon and smokies sit overnight (separately) in the brown sugar. Then I skewered them, baked them til crispy, then layered them in a crock pot with the juice that I saved from the overnight sitting of the meats in the sugar (not the pan drippings). I also served them with the "Tiger Dill Sauce" that someone put on here. I love horseradish and the bite of the sauce was a perfect foil to the sweet smokies. I also added a tiny bit of bbq sauce to the juice. I usually hate when people change up a recipe a bunch and then rate it, but this is a solid recipe. Will make again. Tons of requests for the recipe!!!
