Banana Crepes

I really enjoyed this recipe, the sauce was delicious and the crepes were moist and delicious. However, I only gave it four stars because I had to add quite a bit more cream to the sauce than was put in the recipe because it reduced so quickly. I recommend you use mildly ripened bananas.

Grandma's Moist Cake

I was nervous about using self rising flour as a leavener for the cake, but it came out surprisingly well. The cake was moist and fluffy and had a nice vanilla flavor. I definitely recommend it.

Black Magic Cake

I absolutely loved this cake. When it came out of the oven, it was almost black in color because of the chocolate and coffee. When I cut into the cake after frosting it, it gave off a delicious chocolately aroma, and it was extremely moist and delicious. This is my new go-to chocolate cake recipe. A real winner.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

I really liked this frosting recipe. I altered it just a bit though. I used the recipe's amount of sugar, cocoa, butter, and vanilla, but I just used regular whole milk instead of evaporated and it worked just fine. After the frosting was finished, I folded in about 1/2 cup of cool whip to lighten the frosting and smoothen it out. It was extremely flavorful and rich, but only 4 stars because it was a bit thick, and a tiny bit grainy. I will use it again though.

Incredibly Delicious Italian Cream Cake

I have tried this recipe 3 times now, and though it is indeed "incredibly delicious", it never came out right. This cake doesn't rise correctly, nor does it separate from cake pans, or even cupcake wrappers very well at all. I assure you this was no error on my part because I make cakes all the time as a hobby. I greased and floured the cake pans before baking and it still stuck to the bottom. I did not enjoy this recipe and I am angry I wasted so many ingredients in my kitchen on it.

Glorious Sponge Cake

I absolutely love this recipe, it is my go-to cake. It's perfectly sweet and spongey, and it gets the job done. It is definitely "glorious"!

Heavenly White Cake

Tiramisu Layer Cake

I made this cake for a culinary competition at my school. I won first place! I did alter the recipe though. Instead of using white cake, I made a sponge cake, (http://allrecipes.com/recipe/glorious-sponge-cake/detail.aspx). The cake absorbed the coffee much better and didn't get the unappealing mealy texture of wet cake. I also did 4 layers instead of 3, and doubled the amount of filling. I didn't mix any coffee into any of the cake layers, just gave them a good basting of brewed coffee. I didn't use coffee liqueur either, and you couldn't even tell. A real winner!

Buttercream Icing

I tried this recipe and, although it was delicious, I didn't much care for the mildly gritty texture. I look for butter creams that are smooth and fluffy like whipped cream.

Chef John's Chili Chocolate Cookies

The cookies came out fudgey, soft, and delicious. They were about the texture of a brownie and the chocolate chips and currants were nice. After taking a bite, it takes a second for the subtle spicy flavor to kick in, it's a nice surprise.
