Terrific Turkey Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
I had to make a couple of changes because of the ingredients I had on hand. I used a whole egg instead of an egg white, used Progresso Italian bread crumbs instead of oat bran, and instead of the marjoram and sage I used 1/2 tsp of poultry seasoning. Omitted the olives, also. It was DELICIOUS. I jotted down my changes so I can make it again. This will be going into our regular rotation!

White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
I was looking for a recipe to use for butterscotch chip cookies. So I tried this one, substituting butterscotch chips for the white chocolate chips (of course), and subbing 1 cup of toffee bits for the pecans. These were the best! This recipe is definitely a keeper.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
I made these for our Christmas party last night. We were really expecting them to be outstanding because of the rave reviews and the delicious ingredients. My husband was VERY eager to taste them. When he taste-tested one right out of the oven, he said, "They're okay. See what you think." I had to agree. All in all, they were just okay. I did them on a broiler pan with a foil-lined bottom, so cleanup was easy, and then kept them warm in the crock pot during the party. We had a lot left over and I will probably end up throwing them out. I won't make these again.

Best-Ever Texas Caviar

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
I thought this was absolutely delicious, though it wasn't a big hit at my Christmas party. Someone commented that it was a pretty dish but nobody seemed to eat it except for me. I'll probably make this again as a cold salad but not for a party. I think our friends must not be bean eaters. FYI, this was easy to eat and delicious with Fritos Scoops.

Ham and Cheese Puffs

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
These were good. I made them ahead of time and kept them in the fridge, then popped them in the oven half an hour before the party. (I topped them with a few pieces of chopped red and green pepper to make them look festive for our Christmas party.) There were only 2 or 3 left at the end of the night, so I have to assume they were a hit. Easy to make, too. Will definitely make these again.

Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

These were terrific and so easy. I served them at our Christmas party last night and about three people said, "Oh, I LOVE THESE," when they saw them on the cookie tray. I will make this year after year.

Indian Chicken Curry II

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
I did not care for this! I followed the recipe exactly. I really like curry - I can't figure out what made this so bad. My husband said it was okay but too pasty. I can't believe this got good reviews!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2006
This is delicious. I assembled the layers of potatoes and onions as instructed, then stuck it in the microwave for about 7 minutes while I made the cheese sauce. It was finished after 70 minutes in the oven. This was the only modification I made. I did think it was really good, though next time I will add some garlic to give it more zing.

Emily's Famous Hash Browns

Reviewed: May 23, 2004
Mmmm, these were good! I substituted Bisquick for the flour because I didn't have any flour on hand, and they worked out just fine. They were nice and crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and really tasty. I will definitely make them again - although, I might add more seasoning to them next time and see how they turn out. (Maybe some paprika, salt or garlic salt.) Oh, and they were easy to make, too.

Curried Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2004
Delicious! I decreased the butter to 2 to 3 tablespoons and marinated this for about three hours. It was so good! I'll definitely make it again. (As a few others mentioned, the chicken needed to cook longer than the recipe called for.) My husband loved it, too.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2004
Delicious! I used leftover white rice from the Chinese restaurant and this turned out to be absolutely delicious. I omitted the raisins but stirred in just a little bit of cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg at the end and it was sooo good.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

This had great flavor and smelled delicious while it was baking, but I probably won't make it again because it was just too greasy.

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2004
This recipe had delicious flavor but was too greasy for my taste. I cut down the butter from one stick to about 2/3 of a stick and still it was far too much. Next time I'll try half a stick or maybe even less, and probably decrease the thyme a bit, too. But, we enjoyed it and I'll definitely make it again with these revisions.
