Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon
We loved it - we even added in some mushrooms and some fresh basil the second time around to give it our own twist. I think a lot of the low reviews saying "Noodle heavy" you're not looking at how much you're adding, you see 1 Bag and assume it's 12oz, while MOST pasta is actually sold in 2-3x that quantity. Please be careful when you are measuring things. We do 1/2 of a 900g bag of pasta which is just over the 12oz. And don't drain your bacon. I know what you're thinking - just don't. You lose a lot of flavour doing that. You don't need to add anything into your bacon to cook it. Bacon + pan + low heat. It won't stick, you won't need to add oil because as it heats up the fat cooks out. Then when you add in everything else it blends and mixes. The bacon ended up being so tender and everything was wonderful. I agree with other reviewer. You can't complain about a recipe if you've changed most of it to your taste.

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup
Great recipe for a base and leaves much room for personal taste and flare. I'm 12 weeks pregnant with major Hypermesis and seem to be able to at least tollerate thick soups. I love broccoli so this seemed perfect. I did try it with just the milk and only 1 stalk of celery but the second batch I made I went with some of the reviews choices. I did 1 cup heavy cream and 1 cup milk. I used 3 stalks of celery (And I would contemplate adding a little more because it fills it with fiber without the calories). I did se margarine and I know why some people say you should use butter, but make sure you really enjoy the taste of your margarine before you go and use it; it will taste like it and the butter jst gives it more of a delicate flavour. Nutmeg definitely gave it a bit of a kick on the first batch, the second batch however I added a bunch a parm in it and it made it taste so yummy. The third batch I'll make tomorrow I'm going to used the heavy cream, milk and the extra celery but I'm also going to put in some nice cheddar and make the milk base into a cheese sauce then add the broccoli. I think it will be just as yummy if not better.
