Chicken Continental

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2005
Thanks for the recipe. I love it and will make it again. I added some splashes of sherry to the chicken and mushrooms. Thinly sliced onions made it into the pan, too. The garlic cloves almost seem like a given here (and they were). Very tasty and easy to prepare.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2005
Yes, this recipe has a subtle flavor but you can spice it up with garlic and herbs. I loved the flavor. I took some hints from other reviews and cooked mine with onions, and I used basil, oregano, and garlic along with the garlic salt. I found I had to cook mine a little longer, but was really pleased at how the sauce thickened with the extra cooking time. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Orange Spiced Gingerbread Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2005
I liked the orange flavoring. I substituted honey for the molasses. My kids had fun cutting out shapes. They are good firm cookies but i would call mine honey orange cookies instead of orange gingerbread. Quick and easy to make (okay, except for the chill time).

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2004
I omitted the cocoa powder and substituted 4 1 oz. squares unsweetened chocolate. I reduced the baking soda to 1/2 tsp. I'm sure the reviews were right and the recipe is FAB as is, but I've been on a "melted chocolate" kick recently and thought it might be good. It is rich and chocolatey with the right amount (for me) of sweetness. My 5 year old loves it, too. Thanks for the recipe!

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2004
I added carrots to the macaroni boil. Gotta have veggies. I used one can fat free evaporated milk instead of 2 cups milk. It tasted a little bland before baking, so I added about one teaspoon "Onion Plus" dried onions to the mix. Maybe boosting the mustard to 2 tsp or adding parmesean cheese might perk up the flavor.

Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2004
Easy, quick, and rich recipe. It's good for you "don't like my sweets too sweet" crowd. I'll use cherry pie filing as a topping and that should sweeten it up nicely. Would have been a perfect frosting (for me) had it been a bit sweeter.

Hillary Clinton's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2004
Great flavor. I cut the oatmeal down to 1.5 cups, too but I think it could have used the extra "filler" because my cookies came out flat and delicate if undercooked even slightly (I usually prefer cookies undercooked but these were better with brown around the edges.) If you want a less flat cookie substitute some shortening for some of the butter. Too bad Hillary doesn't have a good recipe for politics.
