These were pretty good. I halved the recipe, omitted the walnuts and salt, used Smart Balance instead of butter, and added 1/2 a mashed banana. I added a bit more flour and baking soda as per the reviews, but the dough seemed a bit dry and needed to add a tiny bit of (soy) milk to make it more balanced. I had no problems with spreading and baked them a bit longer than suggested since I made large cookies. Actually my favorite part of the recipe is the hint of banana that I added- it's a really nice touch. In fact, I wouldn't make these without the added banana. Overall, I enjoyed them and would make them again.
