I always helped my mom in the kitchen. When my dad died in 2007, I had to cook, or we didn't eat. She got very, very lazy. Everything was up to me. Luckily, I'm into all art forms, and I absolutely love cooking for my husband and I. I love trying new things all the time. That includes food. My dad always made me try things I was skeptical about. I miss eating black bear, buffalo, bison, and gator. I'm always trying to come up with my own recipes, and bring something new to the table.
My favorite things to cook
New things. Plain and simple. But if I had to be specific, I really love making sushi, and oriental foods. I also really enjoy cooking Thanksgiving dinner, and German food. I'll give anything a go once, unless I know I despise it already.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom's side is Italian, and so I was brought up with authentic Italian recipes. Most of them, I can't eat too often. However, my dad made random things, and he was the best cook ever! I've followed in his footsteps. I started learning German in 2008, and so I also started learning German recipes. Yummy!
My cooking triumphs
Very many. I'm almost always successful with cooking. I can't truly recall too many specifics, although one was cooking my first Thanksgiving dinner for my family, and my new husband. There wasn't one complaint about it. I love taking on big meals.
My cooking tragedies
I've had a few of these as well, but I can't really remember any specific times. For me, tragedies are like adding too much garlic powder or salt, or burning toast or something of that nature. I usually find a way to fix it though. If we go by that, I screw up all the time, but I usually fix it and it comes out amazing. If we go by ruined meals, then, almost never.
