Sugar Cookie Cutouts

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2014
I've been searching for the Best cut-out cookie recipe for years, and I think I've found it. ??. Doubled the vanilla, as recommended by others, and added 1/2 t salt. Only chilled 2 hours. Made half the recipe and was not standing there all night cutting out cookies. Love that they're not too crisp, nor too chewy. Maybe perfect. ??

Roasted Butternut Squash, Garlic, and Apple Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2014
FANTASTIC! Best squash soup I've ever had, and love that there's no fattening cream involved. So smooth and hearty. Hmmmm. Made it without apple juice. I thought it might mask the sweet squah and yam flavors. Didn't miss it. Perfect on a blustery Fall night.

Grilled Garlic Artichokes

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2014
Fantastic! Tried them for end-of-summer dinner party. Brave, I thought ??. Be sure to constantly watch them on grill, as the olive oil drips into fire and will burn them. The guests loved them. Huge hit. I added more lemon and garlic and used a bit of chile-infused olive oil with plain for a little extra flavor. ??

Gooey Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2014
I don't even have to eat gluten-free, but try to whenever possible. I took reviewer's suggestion and used gluten-free yellow cake mix. Terrific! Satisfies the cooky craving, yummy and gluten-free! Plan to add MINI choc chips next time. ??

Chef John's Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2014
The Best EVER! I've made and eaten lemon bars for years, looking for the best one. This is it! Like some others, I reduced the granulated sugar to about 3/4 cup. Lets the lemon tartness come through. :)

The Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2014
It IS the best! A lot of potato salad dries out and requires more and more mayo. This stays moist and creamy. I agree with others, the final dressing tastes weird, but next day VOILA! Super yummy salad. I cut up sweet gherkins instead of relish and threw in a few capers, so had both sweet and salty. Halved recipe for just two of us at home right now. It will be my Go-To from now on.

Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2014
FABULOUS! When I hit a 5-star recipe I say "I would serve this to the Queen of England!" Great hot/great cold. Bundled 3 spears as others did. Perfect. Her Majesty would love this. :)

Elk Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2014
First time I've made elk! Thanks Brother Don! I quadrupled the recipe to cover 3 large steaks with enough marinade. Put all in a ziploc, and let marinate for 2 1/2 days. Turned a few times. REEEEEALLY delicious. Nicely Flavored what I think is pretty bland meat (no fat). Highly recommend. :)

Creamy Clam Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2014
WONDERFUL recipe! Took the advice of a reviewer and added about a Tablespoon of the sriracha hot sauce, it just gives it a nice flavor, not hot at all! I used Neufchâtel cheese instead of cream cheese, as it is softer (and fewer calories) (find it right next to cream cheese in the store). I kept adding clam juice until it was smooth and creamy. I grated onion very small and it made juice, too.

Creamy Smoked Salmon Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2014
So a friend gives us some smoked salmon every year that he catches and smokes himself. Pretty great, huh? But I wanted to do something different with it instead of "just eating it on crackers," as my boyfriend said. So saved by Allrecipes AGAIN. Loved this dish. Followed it as written. Still thinking about the flavors, AND SUPER FAST AND EASY for a busy weeknight.

Gorgonzola Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2014
Super YUMMY, but maybe will use less Gorgonzola next time. Used the electric hand mixer, didn't have to clean food processor. :)

Roast Loin of Pork

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2013
I followed the recipe exactly, and result was VERY BLAND. I thought with so many onions and garlic cloves it would be flavorful. Was wrong.

Slow Cooker German-Style Pork Roast with Sauerkraut and Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2013
The meat was soooo tender, but the sauerkraut juice made all the ingredients taste the same. And no salt & pepper? BLAND for sure. Love the convenience, but result less than great.

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2013
Soooo tasty on a cold Fall evening! I read other reviews so used only diced tomatoes, less bouillon, and cut recipe in half. Makes LOTS of soup even halved -- Plenty for four, with leftovers!

Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2013
THIS is The Way Pot Roast Should Taste! Absolutely the tastiest and easiest dish of comfort food you will make this Fall/Winter. I followed the recipe exactly. Served the left-over two nights later over wide noodles. Delish. :)
