I enjoyed watching my mother-in-law (whom has passed away) cook. She never measured just a pinch of this or a scoop of that...and a whole lot of love! And it alway's came with a story of her childhood:) Very special! Now my girl's cook for their families and call me for tips and ideas..I love that! They alway's enjoyed their Grammy's cooking and ask for her reciepies too. I took time to measure ingredients as she made thing's when she got older in year's so I could make our favorites for my kids. Now I have them to share and think of their Gram.
My favorite things to cook
Anything with olive oil, sun dried tomatoes and pasta. Also enjoy cooking Mexican food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Lasagna was a must for one of my girl's birthday! The other had to have green chilli burrito's.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to cook a pot roast and potatoes! My first attempt I had invited my brother over for dinner and it was a raw tough disaster!
My cooking tragedies
Pie crust!! I made an attempt at it and realized i needed a rolling pin to roll it out. Instead I tried to roll it out with a glass, got mad because it wouldn't roll out and slammed down the glass on the counter...needless to say this was a bad idea! I pulled glass out of my hand for month's and have the scars to prove it:)
