Irish Soda Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
I gave this recipe 5 stars cause my husband likes it. He does not like Irish soda bread. This is a cross between cake and Irish soda bread.I cut the recipe in half. Put 2 eggs and 1 cup of sour cream. Made one loaf.Great warm with butter and a cup of tea.

Whiskey Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2006
This is a sauce you either love or hate. Unique in flavor. We at first taste found it bitter. I added more sugar and lemon juice. Next time I will also use less worcestershire sauce. The rest, I followed the recipe. My husband made me freeze the leftover sauce. We loved it.

Egg Foo Yung II

This takes a little time to make, but it is worth it. So much better than the resturant one. The sauce is better too. Like store tomatoes and home garden tomatoes. No comparsion. This is a winner

Hermit Bar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2005
These are wonderful. My husband used to get them in the north end. A part of Boston Ma. as a child with his parents. The coffee is what makes the flavor. Like a rich spice cake. He is so happy I found this recipe. He does want more raisin's next time

Rhubarb Slush

Reviewed: May 14, 2005
This is a great way to make sure you pick all the rhubarb. I used vodka instead of gin.I thought it was a bit too sweet. I added a bit of lemon juice at the end in a glass, with the lemon lime soda. I will use less sugar next time. But easy to keep in the freezer. I'm thinking of making the rhubarb patch bigger.

Lemon Mushroom Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2004
This was a very rich and tasty dish. I diden't have the cream of mushroom soup so, I used cream of chicken and a can of mushrooms. I served it on egg noodles. I don't know if I want to make it with the correct soup next time or repeat my subistute. It was also better the next day as leftovers.

Easy Garlic Ginger Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2004
I made this with fresh ginger. It was a great flavor that you have to heed the warning of not over marinating. Will make this again and marinate for only 20 minutes as directed.

German Pancakes II

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2004
This reminded me of a cross between a popover and a Bickfords big apple. I put 1 cup of frozen blackberrys and a tes. of vinella and a dash of cinnemon. I omited the salt. Cooked it a little longer because of the frozen berrys. Next time I will put some sugar in also. This time I put powdered sugar on top. The berrys were also a bit tart "LOVED IT" my hubby wants whiped cream next time on top

Blueberry Walnut Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2004
As soon as I saw this recipe I jumped up and made it. I diden't have a cake cycle on my bread machine so I set it on bake for 1 hr. With the inserted stick method I decided it was gooey in the middle. So, I cooked it on the bake cycle for another 15 or 20 min. It was wonderful warm right out of the machine and it was also wonderful toasted, the next day.
