Spicy Maryland Crab Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
Very good traditional Maryland crab dip. I recommend adding the old bay a little at a time and tasting as you go. Old bay can get very salty quickly. I used the shredded cheese blend that has cream cheese in it! Served with toasted bread, yummy!

BLT Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
Yummy! I did have to make a few changes based on previous reviews ... I used 1.5 cups bacon ranch dressing and 1/2 cup creamy garlic Italian (the pasta soaks up a lot of the dressing). I also added peas and used red onion instead of regular chopped onions. I added cheddar cheese crumbles and used drained fire roasted diced tomatoes. This is a keeper in my house! Can't wait to eat leftovers.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
This was fantastic! I followed other recommendations and made the following changes: used the whole 4oz. Can of jalapeños, used light cream cheese & light mayo, added about 1/2 cup cheddar cheese to cream cheese mixture, topped with fresh shaved parm & panko bread crumbs and baked in the oven for 30 minutes. Served this with toasted bread rounds! The whole house loved it.

Mini Tacos

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
These were really easy and fun! Didn't change anything outside of adding the salsa to the tops after baking. I also piped some sour cream on top before serving. Excellent recipe for football nights.

Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
I used this on pulled pork! This sauce is fantastic! I used a honey bourbon and cut the liquid smoke in half (personal preference). This sauce was well worth the effort ... I will double next time so I have some left over for later!!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
This was very good! I wouldn't say this is the best pulled pork I've had, but I would make it again. I added onions to the liquid and used the bourbon whiskey BBQ sauce from this site. Do not skip the oven baking step, it adds a little something to the meat!

Slider-Style Mini Burgers

These are super easy! I always add dried minced onion to these and skip the pickles but that is just my personal preference!

Honey-Orange Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
Made this as is and it was pretty good, I might double this one next time and slice the ham the last 15 - 20 minutes so the glaze really coats the ham.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
Very good! I doubled the gravy ingredients and added a can of French onion soup and golden mushroom soup. I also sautéed the onions with a few mushrooms after the meat then added all back to the pot with the gravy. I might add extra seasoning next time - maybe a Montreal steak seasoning or some steak sauce.

Bacon for the Family or a Crowd

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
I've been making bacon like this for the past few years! I have started placking a cooling rack on the baking sheet (with raised sides) and cook the bacon on that - no need to drain the grease off. Try sprinkling on brown sugar the last 5 - 7 minutes ... yummy.

Made two batches of these as stated, one with nuts one without!! Amazing. I need to take these to work before I eat every last one of them.

Triple-Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
This was just okay. Everyone ate it but no one really raved about it (or even commented about it). I tend to like my mac & cheese to be more creamy and this didn't even come close to hitting the mark.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
This recipe was pretty good. The only changes I made were I used my own homemade mashed potatoes w/ the added onion, I used frozen combination of peas & carrots, and I added a pack of beef gravy seasoning to the broth/ketchup mixture. The family loved this one.

Cola Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2010
This was a hit, with a few changes, with my family. I did 1/2 and 1/2 ketchup and BBQ sauce, added chopped garlic, and sliced onions. I also took the suggestion of seasoning/flouring the chops and browning prior to putting them in with the sauce.

Grandpa's Classic Coney Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
I wasn't too sure about this but it turned out FANTASTIC!! Everyone loved it (we had a cookout with the neighbors). The only change I made brought the ketchup up to about 1 3/4 cups because as 1 1/2 cups the sauce was a bit "mustardy" for my family.

Springtime Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
This was pretty yummy! I was looking for a pasta salad that was different from the typical italian dressing base. I did not add the olives (personal tastes) but I did add a bit of cubed salami and cheese. I also cut back on the dill and added a few chopped green onions. We will be making this again.

Sorta Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
The majority of my family loved this one! The cooking time is the key to this, it definately makes the cube steaks tender! I followed some of the other reviews and made sure the flour was really seasoned. I added fresh mushrooms, cut back on the worchestershire sauce, added 1 pack of onion soup mix and prepared 2 packs of our favorite beef gravy. I was hoping there would be leftovers for work the next day, but the family liked this too much to leave anything behind.

Beef Pot Pie III

My family thought this was just okay. I felt it was a bit bland when made as is. Next time, I will alter to my family's taste. This definately needs more gravy and seasoning.

Taco Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
The whole family loved this one! I did make some changes based on previous feedback ... I put this in a 9 x 13 pan, used two rolls of the crescent roll dough (pushed up the sides to form more of a pie) and doubled the meat ingredients. I added a can of mild rotel to the meat and served the sour cream on the side vs. putting directly in the pie. Next time I will leave out the chips on top - we didn't care for them.
