About this Cook
I am a wife and a mother. I love to cook! I try to find the freshest, most wholesome and healthiest ingredients I can. I learn more and more all the time and I work harder and harder to be better at it.
My favorite things to cook
Everything! I love to cook for my family and for our friends. I love cooking up something that surprises someone that thought they wouldn't like it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making a traditional Thanksgiving Feast with ALL the fixings. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Christmas Dinner is very much the same. I make an enormous ham, salads galore, fresh homemade rolls and too many desserts. Then there is one of my most favorite. My husband's Birthday Dinner. Every year I love making him Prime Rib, Yorkshire Pudding, Homemade Gravy, Fresh Green Beans and Chocolate Cheesecake.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking tragedies
I worked for hours making this beautiful Key Lime Cheesecake. It wasn't a traditional cheesecake and it required what seemed like a million steps. I even lined up the slices of limes on the outer ring of the spring-form baking pan. I followed every instruction and included every detail. I was on completion of the cheesecake and taking it out to the extra refrigerator we had in our garage and right in front of the refrigerator door I dropped the entire cheesecake. It flipped over and went SPLAT! onto the garage floor. I cried...I literally cried! My husband felt so bad for me. He knew how hard I'd been working on this cheesecake and how long it had taken me. He is such a good husband to understand me and respect my feelings over a damaged cheesecake. :)

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
This recipe makes the PERFECT CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES! These chocolate chip cookies are the best I've ever had! Friends and family come to my house and they eat handfuls at a time. They rave about how yummy and soft they are. I used a 1 1/2" cookie scoop and a single recipe made 10 dozen 2 1/4" cookies. This will forever be my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe.

Chicken Tortilla Soup
Delicious soup and easy to make! I only used 2 1/2 lbs of chicken and it was still a little too much, so next time I'll try just 2 lbs. I like it a little more brothy so I only added about 1/4 the thickening the recipe calls for. The spice was perfect for my family...since I like it a little spicier, I added a couple of shakes of a hot sauce. I will be making this often for my family, we loved it!
