About this Cook
I'm a farmer's wife who's been married to the farmer for over 30+ years. We live on 350+ acres and raise beef for the freezer. We have 5 children and 4 grandchildren. My husband and I are both involved in our church and community activities.
My favorite things to cook
Soups, beef in all forms, and baking goodies for the farmer, our kids, and grandkids.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Canning my grandmother's chili sauce, Thanksgiving turkey, Christmas salmon on the grill, Easter NY-style cheesecake, and sour-cream chocolate chip cookies for my soldier anytime.
My cooking tragedies
When I was newly married I invited my grandparents over for dinner. I tried my hand at a roast beef and apple pie for dessert. The beef was dried out and over done and my apple pie crust was tough. I got the secret to the perfect roast from my mother-in-law and my grandma gave me her rolling pin that had been in the family for over 120 years. My pies are usually perfect now . . . even though I didn't use her crust recipe.

Beef Chimichangas
Once I opened the package of taco seasoning, I decided to use the whole thing. I also used flour tortillas as our family doesn't like the corn. Just a swipe of olive oil on the outer side of the tortilla makes it nice and crispy. HUGE hit! Nice and spicy with a little 'after burn'.

Playgroup Granola Bars
My daughter bakes these up for her family quite often. Instead of raisins, she uses chocolate chips. They are nothing short of addicting!
