About this Cook
I am a mother of six children ; 1 daughter and 5 sons. My children are all natives of Georgia. I loved living in Georgia, however just like my native state (Texas) it can get plenty hot. I always loved the summer time when living in Georgia, there was always the Georgia Peaches to look forward to, as well as the Watermelons and other summertime favorites. It was there that I learned to love most of the foods that avoided as a child. I missed sitting out on the porch shelling peas and shucking corn. I know that may make me seem plenty old but it was just the way of country living, pretty simple. I got so countrified that we started a garden that included, okra which I really had to stay on top of and of course watermelons, which I never was able to eat. I do miss the boiled peanuts. Peanuts was probably the biggest industry in the smaller southern cities of Georgia. Like the great Ray Charles, Georgia will always be on my mind (and in my heart).
My cooking tragedies
Is this a trick question. I have so many cooking tragedies I could not begin to count them all. However, I just had one very recent and it was a big dissappointment. I was going to take a Peach cobbler to a church gathering, unfortunately I had to leave it at the house to be trashed later. The bottom half of the dough overcooked and the upper portion was gummy. That wasn't the first time that's happened. I can only contribute that to the placement of the rack in the oven. Thanksgiving is next week so I'm going to attempt this again, even though my husband asked me to get a frozen cobbler. Not!!

Quick Quiche
Made this dish today for Sunday School, it was great! Had two very small slices leaving church and they were taken by one of the teens, who said he went back for thirds! I will definitely be making this again... Thanksgiving and Christmas morning.
