Coconut Walnut Squares

Tasty but bottom layer too dry and crumbly - I made it exactly as directed but will try next time to not bake the bottom layer ahead of time like the recipe suggested, but instead just bake the whole pan together as one.

Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting

I made this last night as frosting for a Boston cream cake. I made it with plain yogurt instead, as others had suggested and cut way back on the confectioners sugar too. I found it to be a little tart so next time I will try the recipe exactly as written instead. As a note for others trying this recipe, the amount of confectioners sugar used will also be reflected in the consistency of your frosting - because I had used less sugar, when the frosting cooled it also hardened making it more difficult and messy to cut thru.

The Best Spinach Salad Ever

I made this tonight for dinner but felt it needed a few additional spices to add more flavor, so I only gave it 4 stars. I also served it with mashed hard boiled egg and some sliced fresh mushrooms. Everyone loved this salad so I will definitely make this again!

Taco Pie

I made this for dinner last evening - but it turned out only soso. The flavor combination was great but we didn't care for the Pillsbury crescent roll dough in the bottom - it did not seem to have the right texture or taste for this dish. We also didn't like the sour cream mixed right into the meat mixture as others had suggested. I will definitely try this recipe again, but will be omitting the crescent roll dough and sour cream, and try to modify it with a different type of bottom crust. Will also instead serve it with cold sour cream and lettuce. Great recipe idea tho and I look forward to playing around with it!

Classic Meatloaf

Made this tonight for supper and it was a big hit....and even better was the fact that it was so quick and easy to make! The minced veggies made it very moist and tasty. I baked it for a total of 1 hr 15 mins at 325 degrees like others suggested. I will definitely be making this recipe again!!

Berry Crumb Bars

I made this yesterday for supper and my family really enjoyed it! It is such a quick and easy recipe...and we all equated it to a crumble pie....and because I have never made a pie crust, this recipe is perfect and can now be my go-to pie substitute. I took others suggestion of using butter instead of shortening, and I used a canned strawberry pie filling for my trial run, but I look forward to trying this with a variety of frozen fruits I have.

Sweet and Sour Pork Tenderloin

I made this tonight for supper and it turned out very tasty! I didn't have all of the exact ingredients on hand so I had to ad lib a bit. Like other reviewers had suggested, I cubed the pork and pan fried it. I also sautéed some onions, carrots and green pepper with the pineapple. Then for the spice and tang I added a few dashes of Franks red hot sauce and about 1 tsp of red curry paste as I did not have any hot chili sauce on hand or red pepper flakes. Served it over rice and both me and my husband really enjoyed this dish and both agreed this recipe is a definite keeper! Thanks Chef John.

Roast Beef Burritos

Very tasty and great way to finish off leftover roast beef. I did make a few changes but they wouldn't have modified the original recipe much. I used my own homemade salsa in place of the tomatoes, chilies, and taco sauce. I think next time I might also try to spread refried beans on the tortillas before stuffing them. I also served them topped with sour cream. My husband and I really enjoyed this recipe and I will definitely be making this again. Thank you!

Chicken and Gnocchi Soup

Don't know if I would say it is comparable to the OG version, but it is very easy and tasty. I omitted the cornstarch and water like others had suggested and the consistency was still great. Will definitely add this recipe to my box of favorites!
