Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2012
I was frantic for a lite dessert one nite..and this is what I can up with! Had all the ingredients @ home, which surprised me. I never have all the ingredients and that drives me crazy. This turned out perfect. My guest had fun watching me make it and my kid enjoyed helping out. I added powdered sugar as a garnish, walnuts to the batter, and a lemon/applesauce spread. Fantastic!!

Lemon Sugar Tea Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
Wow! Nice basic cookie dough mix that worked with what I had on hand. My first attempt at cookies and the dough slid so much I though it had skates on. All over the pan. I now know how to prevent that. I didn't add baking powder. Just the baking soda the recipe required, a bit more sugar, and a pinch of salt. I didn't have parchment paper..so I sprayed a pizza pan with Pam buttery flavor..voila, no sticking whatsoever! LOL! Also, I added a little more lemon extract..but it barely made it lemony they way I really like. Next time I will add also lemon zest or lemon juice. I think that will do it. My thanks for taking the time to give us the recipe! Simple directions enough that I didn't screw it up. That's saying a lot! Blessings!

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2012
Nice poppers! I used turkey bacon instead of pork. Dunked the smokies into the brown sugar then wrapped 1/3 of the bacon around it. Sprinkled leftover brown sugar on the top. On a skewer these cooked pretty fast in the oven. Had a nice glaze to them too!

Light and Airy Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2012
The first time I made this cheesecake my daughter and I made 2. I followed the directions as stated with three exceptions. We didn't let it sit in the oven for an hour and didn't let it chill for 4 hours in the fridge. After it cooled a bit out of the oven we ate it! Then we made the second one and did the same! This is our favorite cheesecake. Great tasting and with simple directions. I did add a tad more vanilla flavoring. Only because I had the dollar store brand on hand. Thank-you for a fantastic recipe!!! XOXOXOXO!!!

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2013
Ok..I had EVERY intention to follow this recipe to the letter. I thought it would go well with my split-pea soup. What happened? Star Trek happened. One of my favorite episodes. 1. I used 3 cups of cornmeal. 2. 1 cup of (self-rising) flour. I whisked the eggs, then 1/3 cup of sugar, salt, and I then I poured in, 4. 1 and 3/4 cup of milk that was about to sour, smelled edible to me. 5. I heated up the oil in the pan I was using 6. Then poured the liquid into the dry ingredients. 7. I stirred about 2 minutes 8. Then poured in the heated oil. 9. I rushed through this hoping I could finish before my kid got home from school. 10. Then I realized that I should have read the entire recipe and stirred..oops mixed for 5 minutes at least to make it lighter. Well forget that, it was on its way to bakersville. With time to spare as Kirk and crew got out of the Mirrorverse. The result?? Best freakin' cornbread I have ever made!! Thank-you so very much!!!

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2013
First time that I made a bread pudding that turned out right! ONLY because of YOUR RECIPE!! 1 I substituted heavy whip cream...okay that was a bit outdated for milk. 2. My bread already had raisins in it. 3. I added 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. 4. Reduced the sugar to about 1/2 a cup. 5. I used 3 eggs instead of 4. For the finale I made a raspberry vodka sauce to top it off. A glass of milk and I was set!
