Grandma's Green Bean Casserole
Okay, I have a couple of suggestions, but you could make this exactly as-is and people will fall in love. Despite green bean casserole being a nostalgic food favorite with a distinct flavor that this takes a sharp departure from, I have never once heard that someone wanted it the way they had it when they were a kid, after having tasted this masterpiece casserole. I don't think I've made this once without it being regarded as the highlight of the evening's food by all parties. So, what can I suggest to essentially improve on perfection? MAKE MORE! Seriously, no matter how much you make, it won't be enough, but I always make at least double. In addition, I double the crunchy topping because it's my favorite part. The Ritz crackers are great, but I've experimented a bit with that, most notably with everything Ritz crackers and Cheez-Its, and my favorite so far was the Cheez-Its. 10/10

Light and Fluffy Spinach Quiche
I like this recipe a lot, but can't give it 5 stars because of the amount I change to get it just right. If it was just the veggie and cheese choice (basic taste substitution), fine, but I really feel like this NEEDS that extra egg. Otherwise, it's a great recipe that's turned out wonderfully on plenty of occasions. As others have also suggested, the onion should be sauteed, which I generally do if chopped onion is called for in a recipe regardless. Also, I use a deep-dish pie crust, which I've also seen others mention with this recipe. My personal favorite for veggies and cheese in this is mushroom and swiss (with the mushrooms sauteed with the onion and some soy sauce and sake), but my wife made it with mixed veggies and mozzarella one time and that was really good, too!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
I had to make this pie as close to the recipe as possible, mostly out of disbelief. Nothing goes in with the apples? No cinnamon? It's the highest rated apple pie recipe and some of the reviewers won pie contests with it?!?! Believe the hype. This pie is divine. Once I had a taste of the glaze, I knew it didn't need cinnamon and had a good idea of how delicious it would be. One slight change I did make was sprinkling cheddar cheese on top before putting it in the oven, though I may skip that next time to go for complete simplicity.
