Cream of Sweet Potato Soup

My husband said 5, I said 4, but I'll give it the benefit of the difference. He says it would go great with Thai food, I agree. It has a bit of a MILD curry taste, quite good!

This was delicious! It tasted like a cobbler-esk dessert rather than a health side. (Healthy because I subbed Splenda for suger & skipped the butter.) It is a good way to get the family to eat thier fruits & veggies! I have already made it again!

Pasta Fagioli Soup II

Hubby said "4.5 Stars", I said "3.75 stars". I am not a great bean fan, so next time I may cut them in half, but all-in-all, it was pretty good. I am sure I will make it again!

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

It was very good, but not as spicy as we would have liked (hence not a 5). I addwd a can of black beans & a small can of green chilis. We topped it with shredded Cheddar & Pepper Jack cheeses. If you cover the pot during the 20-30 minute simmer you shouldn't need extra broth.

Vegetable Medley Torta

This was really good & cheesy! I did not have the required veggies, so I use some of my favorite canned. If you do likewise, make sure they are well drained or dried on a towel (no excess moisture). I recommend boiling the potato for a few minutes to soften it up. I also added an extra egg to help hold it together. If you have a favorite veggie spice, stir it into the egg mixture. I served it with salsa, but try sour cream as well!

Stuffed Pepper Soup II

My hubby really likes this soup, but I am not a huge fan. It seems to greasy, so I double the LEAN meat & the rice. That helps absorb the grease. I will also try cutting the oil ued in half to see if that helps. It has a really great flavor, aside from the grease.

Bruschetta Chicken Bake

This was really good, but not outstanding. I followed the recipe to the letter the first time & it was good. I made it again with the following modifications and they really put it over the top! Fillet the Chicken breast or cube it, then let it marinate in some low-fat Italian salad dressing. I also doubles the water that was added into the stuffing. (My first stuffing was a bit crunchy.) Lastly, I used a cheese mix of Parm & Mozz. Serve this with a crisp tomatoed salad & you are set!!

Beef Stroganoff III

My husband says he has never really had REAL stroganoff, so he doesn't know how it should taste ... but this tasted really good! (I served it over egg noodles, but rice would be good too.) It's a bit of a long, involved process, but quite well worth it in the end! I followed the suggestions of the most helpful reviewer, and it was great! (Marinate, mushrooms @ 2/3 mark & 1/3 C cream cheese with sour cream!) It was great & has been put into the "Repeater File" after only one serving!

Sicilian Sausage Soup

I had to use spiced buffalo meat in place of sausage (convience & diet), but it was really good!! It was like a goulash, but less saucy & more soupy! I added extra pasta (preference) & it was fantastic!! I will certainly be making this again!!

Beef Noodle Soup

This was pretty good, but make certain you aren't pressed for time. The meat needed to cook longer & if you don't like hard carrots - I recommend steaming or otherwise partially cooking them first. This comes out a bit bland, so keep some salt or garlic salt on hand!

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

This was a great recipe, but I wish I had read some reviews first! Things I learned: 1. Add FF sour cream or sub it for some of the butter. 2. Double the cheese or you won't taste it. 3. Add some milk or these might be quite lumpy (& I used an electric mixer). And lastle, fresh garlic is ALWAYS better. (I know, it is more or a pain ... but you can REALLY taste the difference in a recipe like this one!)

Golden Potato Soup

It is not natural how much my husband loves this soup!! I usually add a can of cream of celery soup in place of celery (his preference), but I tend to add more flour or powdered soup base b/c he likes a thicker soup!

Cinnamon Honey Butter

This went really well in Claire's Crepes! It was also quite good on toast! But as good as it is, don't overload it or the bread gets mushy. Phenomonal on pancakes!!

Bacon Cheddar Chive Muffins

L really liked these, but for some reason, my first batch was prone to falling apart. I used applesauce instead of oil in the second batch & they came out much better. (Applesauce instead of oil helps to cut back on fat, but still bakes up just as well.) This is a great morning treat served with omelets for a house full of people!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

This Chicken & Dumplings ROCKS! I took some of the others advice & mixed the soups to 1 cream of chicken & 1 cream of celery. I also used chicken brath in place of just water. This is great & my whole pot luck group agreed!!

Chili I

This is the best chili in the world!! I don't even know how many times I have made this! I always give the credit to Bob. At first I was worried about the beer & coffee, but they blend SO well with the other ingredients! For this recipe, some of my friends have joined the All-Recipes family!

Spinach Tortellini Soup

I LOVE THIS SOUP!!! The only modification was the addition of meat. For me, I add 1 lb. cooked & cubed chicken breast. For my husband, I add 1 lb. ground & browned sausage. It is a great recipe & I seldom have leftovers - unless I double it!!
