Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

It was delicious. I had a pot of leftover white rice. Only change I made was to omit the chicken (cuz I didnt have any) and added half cup peas and carrots. Very good and fast prep/cook time

Tried this recipe out. It was very very good. I did add 2 garlic cloves to it and half a diced green pepper. I cooked my white rice separate and served the beans on top. Yea will do this one again. This recipe is not bland at all. If you are a foodie you will enjoy this. This is simple soul food. If you want an explosion of spices try a chili recipe instead.

Potato Leek Soup III

Ive never had leeks before. I bought some because I found this recipe and wanted to try it because I love soup. I can eat it everyday in winter. This soup is delicious. I didnt use heavy cream bcuz I didn't have any and I dont need the extra calories.. I used evaporated milk instead. I loved it. Leeks are wonderful. Im goin to make it again.

Very Easy Shrimp Dip

made this as an appetizer for thanksgiving. just delicious! I did add garlic and onion powder to the cheese with a good pinch of old bay and lemon juice. it is really yummy. next time im going to add crabmeat to the cream cheese

Salisbury Steak

Yes this is very good. I made a few changes to it because I didnt have exactly what the recipe called for.I used cornstArch instead of flour. Dried onion soup mix instead of canned. And I didnt add salt because of the high sodium content of the soup. The patties did fall apart though. I didnt use my nonstick fry pan.next time I will use the nonstick frypan. Served it with mashed potatoes. I will be makin this again. Glad I found another good ground meat recipe to use my big bags of ground meat I buy.

Grandmother's Pound Cake II

made this real pound cake again today. I dont understand the one star ratings this recipe is getting. you absolutely MUST beat the softened butter and sugar for more then five minutes with a good mixer. more like ten minutes. beat that mix like it owes you money. add the eggs one at a time. add your flavorings before the flour. remembering to subtract that liquid amount from the milk amount. add the flour and mix JUST UNTIL its blended in. I made a lemon bundt pound cake today. i used 1 and 1/2 juice and rind of regular lemons. added vanilla also. I only needed small amount of milk. im goin to glaze this deliciousness with lemon glaze and serve it for thanksgiving dessert.
