Fruit Pizza II

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2014
It was alright, but I would leave out the orange zest, or cut it to 1/4 teaspoon. I had some clementines on the pizza itself and with that much zest the citrus was over powering!

Little Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2014
Tried this recipe and while alright, it wasn't what I remember my grandmother making. After calling up my grandmother, I found out she just simply uses 1 18oz bottle of BBQ sauce and roughly the same amount of jelly. I like to get local and buy what's call Head Country BBQ, Either Griffin's or Garden Club jelly. I simply heat and mix them together in the slow mixer and they're good to go.

Russian Tea Cakes I

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2014
I have been making Russian tea cakes since I first had to do a report of Russia in middle school. The recipe I used then was from some big-name chef and didn't turn out well. After much tweaking, this is pretty much the exact recipe I ended up with. Nearly 10 year later and now a culinary student, I have brought this recipe to my school's kitchen with outstanding results! I sometimes will add a pinch of salt if you're not using salted butter to give it just a slight bite before you get to the sweet.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2013
This is pretty much the same stuff that I use to make with my mother. I had no problem getting it right the first time; although I do agree with others that the over all directions here are vague. I added in a splash of Vanilla when I added in the peanut butter. I do however recommend using only enough butter for your pan. Mine was a little smaller then the one suggested and I ended up with a layer of butter under my fudge that gave the bottom a weird consistency.

Slow Cooked Squirrel

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2012
I used this recipe for some deer I had and it turned out perfectly. I just wish I had more deer so that I could make more. Hearty and filling, we managed to make the stew last almost a month. Discarded the bell pepper in favor of mushrooms.

Blackberry Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2012
I absolutely love Blackberry so I was eager to try making a Blackberry pie. This recipe has to be my favorite. Quick and easy. the only thing I didn't really like was that the blackberries were super-sweet instead of nice and tart. That could have just been because of the blackberries. I think next time I won't add quite as much sugar in the filling and see how that works.

Pastry for Double Pie-Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2012
Very quick and easy to make. I've only made pie a hand full of times and after the batch of crust made from my typical recipe flopped, I decided to try this one out. I did have to use an extra tablespoon of water, but that was from my own preference. This could very well begin to replace my other recipe for all my crust needs.

Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2012
Over all not a bad recipe. It was a little bland for me. I though it could have used garlic. I ended up making my own mash potatoes instead of using insta or flakes. It's very filling. Made for two people and had well over half left over. Over all not expensive either. Combined the shopping trip with another recipe and spend less then $30. Makes me miss my time in London.
