Scalloped Potatoes and Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
ugh... I sliced my potatoes paper thin and even after two hours they were crunchy... The cheese / milk mixture was a coagulated goo... I only gave this two stars because the pork chops were fine. My family begged me to never torture them with this one again... NO PROBLEM!

I doubled this and put it in a 9X13 pan and added 2 sliced bananas.... YUM!... this was gone in no time!

Best Ever Muffins

I agree with the others. A good base recipe that you can add just about anything to. Easy to do and it tastes good... it's just not a 'wow' recipe that gets 5 stars from me.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
sooo easy to make and sooo good! I substituted chicken broth for the beer and we top it with cheddar cheese, sour cream and the tortilla chips. It's a hit in our house.

Hummingbird Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
While the name is not very descriptive of this cake it is wonderful. It's firm like a sweet bread and was quite a hit with my family.

Ground Beef Zucchini Skillet

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
My family moaned when I set this in front of them... another zucchini dish... ugh. But all were pleasantly surprised and scarfed it down. Don't pass this one up, give it a try. I used some shredded mozzarella in it and went over so good that there were NO leftovers! I'll make it again!

Gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
this is a pretty heavy cheese center for these sandwiches. I used ciabatta bread and stuck it in the oven till I could see the cheese had melted rather than try to grill it. I loved the sandwich but think that your average grilled cheese lover will find this mixture really heavy.

Pixley On a Stick

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
YUM-O! the ranch/sugar mixture makes a nice sweet coating to these appetizers. I made a test batch and served them to my family for dinner and they asked for them again the next day. I'll definitely be serving this up at my next family get toghether. I tried another reviewers suggestion on the second day and substituted italian seasoning for the ranch and it was just as fabulous!

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Amen and pass the potatoes. I used normal buttery ritz, not cheezy and I did not sift out the onion soup mix, just used it as is and I did not think this was too salty. I topped it with ketchup while cooking and it was great!

Banana-Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
great mix of flavors, the cranberries gave it that extra "something" without being overpowering. My husband does not normally like cranberries so I didnt' even tell him that's what they were... I think he assumed it was raisins, but said he loved the bread!

Baked Potato Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
I serve this with the wavy style potato chips and people love it. You need a "hefty" potato chip for these, the dip is really thick but great!

Rockin' Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
This is the first salsa I have ever made. I found it to be easy and a very good salsa. tip for everyone out there... boil some water, drop the tomatoes in for about 20 seconds, then pull them own and dip them into an ice water bowl... the skins will peel right off. Salsa has a kind of sweet taste and my kids really liked it. I'll be keeping this recipe for my next batch of tomatoes from the garden next summer... and enjoying these all winter long!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Yum-o... great with nacho chips. I used a whole can green chilies and whole can of Jalapeno and I would not say that it is too hot at all... ( and I don't really like things spicy). Real parmesean cheese mixed in and it's fantastic!

Taco Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
I thought this was great but I did make a few changes... instead of the tomato sauce and seasoning mixture I just used a jar of taco sauce and I did make it just ONE crust... It was really thick and my family loved it!

Company Potatoes

Fabulous. I did omit the paprika and I mixed all the cheese into the potato mixture. I was afraid the cheese would get hard on top. It turned out fantastic and I'll definitely make this one again.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
This was pretty good... the dumplings were a bit gooey. I pushed them down into the chicken mixture as others suggested. I'd make it again.
