Ron's Bread Machine White

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
A good, all-purpose white bread recipe. This didn't rock my world BUT it's so nice to find something a tad different. It baked up perfect and I did add a bit more sugar then called for and am glad I did. I will make again and put this baby in my recipe box. THANKS FOR SHARING and I feel this is a total 5 star recipe....IMHO.

Bread Pudding III

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
10 STARS! When I married my husband gave me his mother's fool-proof recipe. I have made it several times and always got "this does NOT taste like my mom's". I gave up and started looking for something new. I followed the recipe to the letter...almost? ;-) I DID cut the recipe in half for 2 people and used LESS sugar since I made a sauce for it which was the added sweetness. AND I followed the other suggestions and let it sit for half an hour AND did not add the melted butter until just before baking. (I poured it over the top of the pudding) I think that covers it? BUT...bottom line it was GREAT and I am NOT a bread pudding fan but my husband LOVED it and said "this is IT"! I guess that say's it all? THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this.

Pillow-Soft Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
I'm giving them 4 good SOLID stars. Not 5...WHY? They were good but there was nothing unique or new or different here. BUT on the UP side they did made excellent bread pudding when they were day old! If you are looking for a good, all-purpose roll recipe then this is IT. Thanks for posting

Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
5 BIG stars! This recipe is PERFECT for small households which is a HUGE plus for me.....OR if you don't want a big pan of rolls to tempt you. The dough was ultra easy to mix/knead with my Kitchen-Aid mixer and as for the filling? I did NOT follow the recipe. I can tell you I used MORE butter then called for and eyed the cinnamon and used brown sugar and chopped pecans. I was craving cinnamon rolls and these fit the bill. I WILL be sharing this recipe with friends and family. THANK YOU for posting this simple, yummy recipe. OH BY THE WAY.....after the dough was kneaded I let it sit for half an hour and made these right away/same day.....so the overnight thing is optional since mine turned out great.

Yuppers! Follow the other reviewer's in regards to more lemon and white wine you you will be FINE! I use "tenders" and flour and brown them and cook them in the sauce and it's just like the place we can all go eat ("O-Garden")....add peppers and onions and ya got an exact match. This is my second time making this and NOT my last....THANK YOU so much for this yummy and super EASY recipe! Hard to please hubby loves this by the way.

I am teetering between a 4 and 5 but will stick with a 5. I made this for my mom's wedding reception and it WAS good...very good. I just wish I had put in some cherry juice like advised because mine came out thick. I would make this again in a heartbeat though....it was yummy!

Gingerbread Men

10 STARS BABY! I do not like molasses gingerbread cookies and I found this and followed the recipe to the letter and WOW! Yummy.....SO DARN GOOD! I did a "test run" today before I made these to give away and I KNOW the people gifted with these will love them. Let me address the "cooking time". I used a BIG gingerbread man cutter and YES they DID take about 12 minutes....smaller cookies will NOT take as long.....but I am stickin' with my jumbo boys! Anyway try this fabu recipe and can I just say THANK YOU for posting and thank you ALL for the amazing pics which gave me GREAT decorating ideas! OH YES...someone advised buying more then one box of pudding ...... YES! Get more then one box.....TRUST that piece of advice.

Waldorf Salad II

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
YUMMERS! I just made it for dinner tonight instead of veggies....I did NOT have the lemon juice but oddly don't even miss it. Followed the recipe and added golden raisins and I fell short on my mayo so it's not a "saucy" as I think I would have preferred but even with all that? 5 STARS BABY! Thanks...this super simple recipe is going in my recipe box.

Oatmeal Banana Raisin Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
Well...they ARE good and Lord KNOWS how sick I am of banana bread. Gotta say...not "cookie" like...but for me they came out "cakey"...but GOOD! Don't get me wrong...A GREAT change from banana bread and I would make again. By the way I used REAL butter and golden raisins and 3 banana's in mine. **Am bumping from 4 to 5 STARS!** AFTER letting them sit overnight I would give these 20 stars! Gave some away to friends since this recipe makes so much and am still noshing on mine...these are even BETTER when they sit a day or two. SO....5 STARS! Like I said a GREAT change from banana bread and muffins! Next time I will try some crushed pineapple and nuts in these....just for kicks and giggles.

Maple Oat Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
YUM! YUM! Ok, I did make one "change"...maybe 2? FIRST I thought I would replace 1/2 the oats with steel cut oats for more "texture"? It WORKED. SECOND I used my Kitchen-Aid mixer to mix this up. I actually ended up with 2 loaves of bread. My neighbor RAVED about this bread and it is SO SO good...the maple flavor just shines but does not overtake. This bread has just the right amount of "chewy, texture, crust"....in a word? PERFECT! MANY THANKS FOR SHARING THIS! It's going in my forever recipe box.

Banana Flips

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
How to review this masterpiece? Hmmmm....Well FIRST it's a 10 star recipe! I have made this twice now WITH the advice of using powdered sugar instead of granular. AND....I had an old banana and added that to the cake for kicks & giggles (will ALWAYS do that!). Now for the "filling"...I could NOT find any banana extract on the day I was to make this SO I purchased some Loran's Banana Cream Oil...yes the kind used for candy making...BUT you CAN add it to other things as well. I put in a DROP at a time just until I got a very "light" banana flavor and was I glad I did...it balanced out the MEGA MOIST banana cake with the not so "sweet" filling. Am I gushing? :-) It's a GREAT recipe and something different to do with an old banana or two! THANKS FOR POSTING THIS...really!

Buttermilk Chocolate Cake with Fudge Icing

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
I am back for my second baking of this recipe. YUMMY.....ONE THING....everyone who said add MORE cocoa? They are SPOT ON. With added cocoa and cutting the recipe in half because there are only 2 of us....it's a KEEPER and a WINNER. By the way....1/2 a recipe makes a dozen cupcakes and may I suggest ganache for frosting? YUMMY GOOD! THANKS for posting this.

Taking into account what many others had said...I added some extra sugar and a tad extra vanilla and some butter extract...I was VERY generous with the powdered sugar. VERY GOOD...VERY SUPER SIMPLE! I made 1/2 a recipe for hubby for a "weekend afternoon snack". BIG hit with husband and a no muss/fuss treat! MANY THANK for posting this...5 STARS all the way...just remember to DOLL UP if you want some extra flavor.

Easy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
OK, I did what lots of us do...I changed things a bit. I used 2 C. half & half and 2 C. heavy cream and 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. vanilla paste and of course the Eagle Brand. I froze it in my Cuisinart ice-cream maker (the 2 qt. model) and it came out VERY good! No after taste and it froze beautifully. Was the vanilla flavor strong? I don't think so. IMHO if you are going to go to all the trouble of making something from scratch then don't skimp...I used really good vanilla and cream so maybe that's what this recipe is missing? Anyway, bottom line? I had really good results with this simple recipe and will add it to my forever cookbook.

Cherry Cordial Ice Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2008
When I got my ice-cream maker I was only going to use "custard" recipes...NO sweetened condensed recipes for me...NO SIR! BUT.... YUMMERS! I used my Cuisinart 2 QT. ice-cream maker...it was to much mix for it but I went ahead anyway (cleaning up the mess is fun anyway) and it churned up beautifully. GREAT taste/texture...the ONLY thing I may do diffently is add a "bit" more chopped cherries. (personal taste and all that). 5 BIG stars for this one. GREAT recipe and I will make it again. THANKS for posting!

Creamy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
I made this thinking it would be super simple and I had all the ingredients. AFTER I got it cooking I had MAJOR doubts about it but it was to late to turn back so I hoped for the best. It was GREAT! So good! NO KIDDING! We served the sauce over rice and my husband RAVED and he is NOT a big pork fan. This one goes into my cookbook and I will make it again. The ONLY change I made was I did not use any salt (the bacon is salty enough) and I didn't use the paprika. THANKS for posting this most excellent dish!
