I enjoy outdoors and sports. I have 2 boys ages 21 & 25, and my girlfriend Sandra. Cooking came up years ago from my mother but just within the last 5-6 years have come to enjoy the technique and spice playing to try to create something, my poor girlfriend ends up being my guinea pig.

I enjoy all types of foods but working with seafood is a challenge so i tend to work with it more on new recipes
My cooking triumphs
While at the beach with 4 other couples, around 10 years ago, we were headed to the local fish market and they decided to purchase scallops but no one were sure how to prepare them so I just shot out that I had the perfect thing to do with them (must have been then beer talking because I had never prepared scallops in my life), they said great! Do it. I went and bought jamaican jerk marinade and bacon (somewhere I heard bacon works with scallops). I marinated the scallops in the jerk sauce for a couple hours, wrapped bacon around them and grilled them. DANG! They were great! To this day my friends are still making this each year.
My cooking tragedies
Not a very long story. Ever try working with salmon and cedar planks? I did and even soaked the plank in water for a while, yeah, like that kept the wood from turning into charcoal. I truly toasted some beautiful salmon fillets on that chunk of wood and have never tried it since. One day I may do it again with different results, just can't imagine ruining another salmon.
