Happy Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2012
I made this and it was good, but we like orange chicken better than lemon. I squeeze the juice of an orange in a bowl, add honey and thyme. put squeezed orange halves and one onion cut up in the cavity. Salt/Pepper chicken, Roast 375 degrees, last half hour pour orange juice mixture over chicken and baste til done. Makes a great sauce and aroma throughout the house is amazing.

Dog Treats I

Omitted the sugar and replaced with Agave nectar and replaced margarine with olive oil. Also made a peanut butter version...taking out the cheese and bouillon. Both chihuahuas love them!

Easy Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
Prepared this as a side dish with burgers. I also blanched carrot slices and cucumbers for this - it was very good and colorful. I didn't put as much pepper flakes in the recipe for our taste, and omitted the vinegar, but used a little more lemon juice. Very tasty. Will make again. Thank you Chef John.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
This is a good recipe, but try making your own barbq sauce with Root Beer or Cola. Cook your pork in 1/2 c. rootbeer or cola in the slow cooker til it falls apart. while that is cooking, in saucepan, pour one can rootbeer, bottle of chili sauce, and simmer covered for 30 minutes. take off lid and cook longer to reduce, if you want it thicker. Once your pork is done in the slow cooker, shred and put the pork in the sauce and let it sit to absorb more flavor. yummy!

Egg Breakfast Pizza

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2012
This sounds yummy, but my husband makes it easy for himself by using left over pizza slices. He fries a slice in a pan with a little oil, crust down to heat it and crisp it up again. He turns it over for a little while so cheese doesn't melt off. Puts it in a plate, then tops it with two over/easy eggs. He loves it.

Sloppy Joe Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2012
My husband and I loved this casserole. I had a small can of Manwich, so I substituted the taco seasoning and tomato paste with it. I still used the diced tomatoes though. I also used half cheddar and half Coby Jack cheese, milk instead of half/half. Excellent flavor. This is a keeper for us. Thanks!

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Made these today, they are easy and delicious! I put walnuts and raisin in mine; also I used a 9x13" glass pan, lowered oven temp to 350 degrees - they were done in about 35 minutes. I will be making these again. Thank you.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2012
We loved this recipe! That is really saying something, because my husband doesn't like peaches! Used fresh peaches, didn't change a thing, with exception of baking time. 20 minutes did it for us. Thank you

We loved this recipe. I used romano cheese, crumbed with butter, instead of the feta. Used 5 eggs as well. Delicious. Husband really liked it, served with fresh green salad. Thanks so much for posting.

The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2012
This is a nice recipe. I used the fresh lemons, juiced, but added just a touch more juice because I love tart lemon desserts. Other than that, followed the recipe. This is a keeper for me. Thank you.

White Chili II

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2012
We had this for dinner tonight. We really like this version. Because we cannot handle really spicey food, I omitted the jalapeno peppers, but added a 1/2 tsp hot pepper flakes. I also didn't have green onions, so I used one of my sweet onions from the garden. Thats the only changes I made. I will serve this for dinner again. Thanks Nancy.
