My husband, boys and I live in California and love to try out different recipes, types of food, and restaurants. I started cooking on a more regular basis when I got married and I have found it to be one of my most enjoyable hobbies. I use Allrecipes.com almost daily. My favorite things to cook
I am known for my salads and desserts...I'm always asked to bring them to dinners or potlucks. I like most things to be homemade...dressings, salsas, breads, etc. Store bought just doesn't cut it anymore. I enjoy cooking most things and experimenting but warm, homemade bread with butter makes my heart smile!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have a lot of cooks in my family. My sister owns a small, successful restaurant, Side Street Cafe in Costa Mesa, CA, and all of my brothers like to cook. We have a lot of great family recipes and we always cook for the holidays.

Desserts, salads, and homemade breads.
My cooking tragedies
I'm TERRIBLE at cooking chicken dishes. I always overcook so I end up buying Rotisserie chicken for my recipes.

Creamy Chicken Bog With A Kick
We loved this!! I had a rotisserie chicken I needed to use up. So I just used 4 1/2 cups of water (added 3 tsp. bouillon) to make the broth. I also sautéed the bell peppers and onion in a little butter, then added the chicken and kielbasa to it, then added it all toward the end of the rice cooking. It had a nice kick and was delicious. Definitely a keeper! (It makes a ton! More like 8-10 servings!)

Pumpkin Rolls I
I cut this recipe in half and made little pumpkins out of the dough. Very yummy...especially with honey butter.

Pumpkin Snickerdoodles
This is my recipe and I just wanted to mention this: Snickerdoodles are traditionally made with shortening and cream of tartar...this gives them a distinct taste and appearance. You can substitute butter for the shortening and skip the tartar (which can produce a "tinny" taste) but it might also alter the shape of the cookie. If you like a little more spice, add a little more cinnamon or some pumpkin pie spice. **I wasn't intending to rate this recipe, just wanted to make this note.**
