About this Cook
I'm a mother of two with wonderfully loving husband of four years now. I love to bake anything and everything, and I'm best when it's from scratch. I seem to mess up even the simplest of boxed goodies. I don't cook though... I'm terrible at it!! My husband does all the cooking, I do all the baking.
My favorite things to cook
Any sort of dessert! Cakes are my favourite!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I've always loved going over to my Nana's house during the Holidays and having a 2 or 3 week Baking Extravaganza!! My Nana passed about 4 years ago, so now my Mom and I continue on with the tradition.
My cooking triumphs
I always consider it a triumph when I make a birthday cake for one of my children, and they tell me how "pretty" or "awesome!" it is, plus everyone at the party has second helpings... or tells me they would PAY for my cake.
My cooking tragedies
Likr I said, I don't cook. There reasoning behind this... I wanted to make some grilled cheese and tomato soup for lunch. This is something that I can usually cook with no problems, plus it's delicious. So I put my grilled cheese on the griddle and my tomato soup on the stove. The first problem I had was that I turned on the wrong burner. Instead of warming my tomato soup, i burned through the plastic cutting board I had used to butter my bread. So I turned that burner off and turned the right one on, and started cleaning up the burned plastic. While cleaning up, I had forgotten about the grilled cheese... so it burned. While tending to the grilled cheese, the tomato soup had boiled over (I forgot to turn it down!) and was smoking up my whole house!! I ended up turning everything off and calling for my husband to come and make me lunch.
