Chicken Gravy

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2014
The gravy's consistency is good, but it needs seasoning. I would cut down on the poultry seasoning and add salt next time. The poultry seasoning gives it a very bitter taste.

Egg Salad I

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2014
I thought the dill overpowered the sandwich. I added two small honey crisp apples to the recipe to give it some sweetness. That was the only thing that made this edible.

Sausage Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
These were ok. My family ate some of them, but a lot were left over. Very good advice about wearing gloves when getting the seeds out of the jalapenos, and doing so under water. My daughter was the one cutting and cleaning them without gloves. Poor baby looked like she was sprayed with pepper spray for hours. Both of our hands were also burning for hours. So not worth the end result imo.

Lemon Chicken Piccata

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
This was ok, not really special at all. I had to start over after starting the sauce. I think I had too much grease in the pan from frying the chicken. I cleaned out the pan and started with fresh oil to fry the garlic. I agree with the people who said do not put the lemon slices in the sauce, but instead use lemon zest. Also, the sauce was very thin, so I had to use corn starch to thicken. The taste was good. It is very much like Chicken Diane.

Pea Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2014
I loved this. I make it all the time now. I never really thought about pea salad until I had some at a church social and I knew I had to find the recipe. Amazing how good onion, cheese and peas can taste together.

Making Crispy Onion Rings

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2014
This was great. I have been looking for a way to make onion rings that will not leave them soggy if I have to refrigerate them later. This was the answer. They are so delicious, I can't make them often because I will be huge.

Mom's Best Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2014
This is the best baked pork chop recipe that I have seen. I make it at least once every couple of weeks. I use Progresso Italian bread crumbs and also spread melted butter on the baked pork chops before they go into the oven. My family loves them.

Beef Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2013
This is very similar to the recipe I have used for years. Like a lot of other people, I use taco seasoning in my meat with the onion and a little bit of cayenne pepper for heat. I add sour cream at the end as a topping, along with some more sauce and cheese. I also use flour tortillas because I feel corn tortillas put in oil just adds too much extra fat. The flour tortillas taste wonderful.

Easy Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2012
I made this today. I added one soup can of water, some frozen peas and some Cajun Seasoning to the mixture. I cooked my rice separate, and it turned out a little too soupy for my taste. I wanted it to be thicker. The flavor is great though. Next time I will not add any water and probably make it with double the rice to get it to the consistency that I like.

I use 1 1/2 cups sugar to 2 gallons of tea and it is plenty sweet.

Amish Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 29, 2012
The taste was ok; I halved the amount of sugar listed. But, the meatloaf turned out dry.

Fish Chowder

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
This is the best chowder. I don't put mushrooms in mine, but it is still wonderful. You can also use Talapia or other fish (not catfish) in this recipe. There are never any leftovers when I make this.
