My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving and Christmas are always a big cooking day at my house. I go all out with a ton of food. It usually is the only time I bring down my good China. The last person to sit down at the table has to say the blessing. LOL
My cooking triumphs
I have a lot of recipes that come out near perfect every time. Practice makes perfect.
My cooking tragedies
I never get good results from using alcohol in my recipes. I guess it is because I don't drink at all, so I am not used to the taste. I try to stay away from recipes that call for Sherry or a lot of Wine.

Chicken Gravy
The gravy's consistency is good, but it needs seasoning. I would cut down on the poultry seasoning and add salt next time. The poultry seasoning gives it a very bitter taste.

Egg Salad I
I thought the dill overpowered the sandwich. I added two small honey crisp apples to the recipe to give it some sweetness. That was the only thing that made this edible.

Sausage Jalapeno Poppers
These were ok. My family ate some of them, but a lot were left over. Very good advice about wearing gloves when getting the seeds out of the jalapenos, and doing so under water. My daughter was the one cutting and cleaning them without gloves. Poor baby looked like she was sprayed with pepper spray for hours. Both of our hands were also burning for hours. So not worth the end result imo.
