Chocolate Mint Crinkle Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2014
Excellent instructions! Right down to the number of cookies it would make! I got 44 cookies out of my batch. Very easy recipe. I chilled dough for about 3 1/2 hours and it was very easy to work with. Chocolate and peppermint together taste great. Cookies are soft and really pretty too! The first new cookie recipe I have tried this holiday season that came out just like the picture! Thanks for the recipe!!

Simply the Easiest Beef Brisket

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2014
This was super easy and you cannot mess it up! The brisket was so tender it actually fell apart when I cut it. And it was so flavorful! We got many compliments from our guests. My only suggestion would be to line your glass dish with aluminum foil. That would have made clean up much easier!

Patty's Mom's Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2014
This is a great recipe. I did modify, as suggested by others, adding 1 chopped green pepper, 1 t oregano, and 2 t cumin. I put all ingredients together in crock pot ( didn't even soak the beans ) , substituting 4 cups chicken broth for half the water, and adding the onions, celery, and 3 garlic cloves minced after sautéing. I was in a hurry so I put crock pot on high for first 3 hours, then low. It was done in about 5 hours. Great recipe! The ham was good on Easter, but cooked this way it was amazing! And the meat just falls off the ham hock !

King Cake in a Bread Machine

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2014
This bread came out perfectly. I used other reviewers' advice and baked for 25 minutes, reducing heat for last 10 minutes to 350. Also made a chocolate filling with heaping 1/2 cup chocolate chips melted with 2 T butter, and added 1t cinnamon, 1/4 cup brown sugar and 8 oz cream cheese. The only problem I had was the filling gooped out a little in a couple places while baking. I think this may be because I didn't seal the seam carefully. It was my first time making king cake though so I chalk that up to beginner's mistake. Thank you for this wonderful recipe. I am a Virginia native who has lived in Louisiana for the last 15 years. This is a very authentic tasting king cake.. You know it is success when your daughter ( who has lived in Louisiana since she was 2 months old) says "wow Mom-- you made this?"

Stacy's Half Cup Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2013
Love this recipe! So much easier than past recipes I've used and really if you are going to mix the sweet potatoes with all that other good stuff there is no reason to use fresh ones. This is the best and yummiest sweet potato recipe I have tried and the one my kids have liked the best too! Made it for a big family and friend Thanksgiving meal last November and it was a big hit! Kids not only ate the marshmallow topping (usually this is all thy eat) they cleaned their plate ! Thanks for a great recipe!

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2013
For an easy and healthy throw together week-night meal, this is pretty good. A few more seasonings might add a little more flavor.

Easy and Tasty Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2013
The combination of ingredients gives this soup an extra something that the other recipes don't have. I didn't have black beans when I made this so I subbed with kidney beans. I also subbed canned corn for the hominy and did not add the banana pepper. I think it would be even better as written. The only change I will keep in the future is subbing all natural chicken broth for the water and bullion cubes. Cuts down on the salt and tastes even better. Overall a great recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Bread Machine Focaccia

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2013
This is a great recipe. I think, as one reviewer suggested, that the recipe intends for you to use the pizza dough cycle on the bread machine, then press into pan and allow to rise before baking. The suggestion of adding a little seasalt on top with the olive oil and rosemary prior to baking is a good addition!

Italian Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2013
Made this recipe just as the recipe states. Used sliced pork medallions as one reviewer suggested, but simmered all for the 15-20 minutes. It was very good. The pork was tender and flavorful. Served with "Gormet Risotto" and "bread maker Foccacia". It made a very nice meal. Thank you for sharing the recipe!
