About this Cook
Basically, I am a cook/chef that has worked in B&B's, small country inn's, and various other restaurants. I enjoy all aspects of cooking and learned alot from my mom. She cooked the Woolworth lunch counter for years (and yes, against company guidelines) always put her personal touch on recipes. She carried a booming business and passed that tradition along to me.
My favorite things to cook
Cooking is an art. I love to cook everything, from pies and cakes, to baked meats, cookies, vegetable casseroles....Basically if it can be eat, I like to cook it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Prior to the loss of most of my family, I enjoyed family get togethers. Now, cooking for 2-4, catering small parties, funtions, etc. is something I truly enjoy.
My cooking triumphs
Carving fruits, baked goods, comprising menus and executing them for the discerned palate.
My cooking tragedies
maybe a cake falls from time to time.

Pumpkin Pancakes
I thought these where absolutely delicious! I roasted pumpkin and froze it for baking. I had a cup left over so I made pancakes. I used the recipe exactly as written and thought then to be awesome!

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts
On my first try these came out delicious. I do beleive that next time I will use a smaller donut cutter. I am amazed at how delicous these where. They are a deeper brown color, but, I believe that I can rememdy that with more quick of a turn. These remind me of a cross between Krispy Kreme, Grandmas Fried Pies, and the swirly thing you get at the carnival. Ill tweak these again and I bet I will be donut shop quality after a few tries!
