Creamy Bow Tie Pasta Salad with Prosciutto, Peas, Grapes, and Dried Cranberries

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
I liked the light, lemony flavor of this pasta salad very much. I used a combination of dried cranberries and cherries. I also used cubed ham instead of the proscuitto.

Carolina Pork Twirl

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
This was really very good. The pork stayed very moist and tender. Next time, we will probably use a tomato-based bbq sauce instead of the yellow sauce.

Stuffed Turkey Legs

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
I was looking for a different recipe for turkey legs (I've only smoked them in the past,) and I was pleasantly surprised to find this. The flavor was simply wonderful - it's much greater than the sum of its parts. I'll definitely try this again.

Mandarin Chicken Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2011
This is wonderful. I had to make a slight change as I didn't have dry onion soup mix, so I used a package of dry Italian Salad Dressing mix. The recipe makes a lot of sauce, next time I will use more pasta.

Swan's Summer Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2009
I like this - a very nice summer soup. My only changes were to add a couple of large sea scallops to the soup. I marinated thin slices of the scallops in a bath of fresh lime juice and onions for a couple of hours. I then added the drained scallops to the soup. Yummy!

Simply Elegant Steak and Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
My husband loved this - it's nice and homey, so I wouldn't call it "elegant." Here are my suggestions - when browning the beef, take care not to crowd the beef. I did mine in two batches. Also, don't stir the beef around while browning - just let the beef strips sit in the hot oil until very brown on one side. Only then, flip to the other side. This adds a nice brown color (and flavor!) to the sauce. I used fresh garlic and no mushrooms as I didn't have any fresh on hand. I deglazed the pan with the sherry before adding the mushroom soup.

Jet Swirl Pizza Appetizers

Reviewed: May 5, 2008
We all loved these. I used the ingredients I had on hand, so ours included browned crumbles of Italian Sausage and a bit of spaghetti sauce, along with the cheese. Covered the entire loaf with generous olive oil and topped with parmesan. So, so yummy!

Corned Beef and Cabbage II

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
Finally! A corned beef recipe that doesn't cause the beef to shred when you slice it. Even my picky kids loved it! Can't wait to make sandwiches with the leftovers.

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
My whole family loved this recipe. I used chicken sausage instead of Italian as that was what I had on hand. I also added about 1/4 cup of heavy cream before serving. It added a bit of creaminess that was wonderful!

Glo's Sausage Fried Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
Although not a very traditional fried rice, this was very homey and delicious. My kids even liked it!
