made it twice now, and love this recipe! only made half the amount the first time (huge mistake lol) was amazing, soft and dense- husband and kids loved it toasted with peanut butter, I ate it with olive oil and balsamic vinegar- yum! making it again right now, reg sized recipe- made half into a loaf and the other half into 12 buns, can't wait to try!! great recipe.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2012
Only started reading reviews after I made the dough and was waiting for it to rise- note to self-read reviews first!!!!!, and had already learned the flour water ratio was terribly off and adjusted with quite a bit more water (at least half a cup). dough did rise, but was still difficult to work with, made 6 'pretzels' before i decided to make the rest into dinner rolls. baked at 400 for about 10 min, till golden brown-drizzled with butter...still raw inside though, blah. baked another 6 min until very toasty brown....still not really that well cooked and just kind of a knot of dough. was an absolute disaster- i do a lot of baking and have never had this much trouble before. ended up just tearing it all into pieces and now drying out a bit in oven to make a bread pudding.
