Oatmeal Craisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2012
I was really worried about the amount of dry ingredients. I used my hands to mix in the cranberries and make sure the dry ingredients were mixed well. I used all cranberries and added a 1/4 tsp fresh ground nutmeg. They baked up wonderfully! I only gave it 4 stars because they were very sweet.

Irish Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
I give this 5 stars for taste! I wouldn't call this a pound cake though. It's too light. I made this in a sheet pan so I could cut it into bite size pieces for a chocolate fountain so maybe that's why it was too light. Thanks for sharing.

Kolachky

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2011
Am I the only one who had to use a lot more flour? It is cold and dry here and I used over 6 cups of flour. My mother-in-law taught me how to make these. Her mother came to the US from Poland through Germany and to Ellis Island when she was 4. I thought I'd try a different recipe but I'll go back to hers. Maybe the author meant 2 sticks of butter not 2 cups.

Grandma Skeet's Prune Kolaches

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
My Polish/Slavic mother-in-law taught me how to make these but her's was more of a cookie and used cream cheese, butter and flour for the cookie. She used Solo canned prune fruit filling which is almost impossible to find. I'll use her recipe for the cookie but I'm excited to try your filling.

Chocolate Cappuccino Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 22, 2011
I won the Grand prize at the church cake-off with this recipe. I did modify it but only because I didn't have the exact ingredients. I also baked it in a water bath and turned the oven off after 45 minutes and left it in the oven for another 45 minutes.

Angie's Perfect Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
I made these for a charity I cook for on occasion. They are wonderful. I highly recommend making them as pan rolls. They are light and fluffy and there's no kneading! I'm going to make them again but with whole wheat flour.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
This is a great tasting cake! I just needed to get rid of a bunch of carrots so I choose this recipe because it didn't call for pineapple. I was expecting a really dense texture due to the picture. The batter is really thick but don't let that fool you. It is very light and moist. I tried to make cupcakes. I over filled the cups so I'll try again. I agree with the person that said they don't need frosting. But who dosen't love cream cheese frosting? I might add some nutmeg next time.

My Mom's Sausage and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
This was OK. Not something I would say, "Hey guys want that sausage casserole tonight?" For me to give 5 stars I have to think. Wow when can I make this again?

Unbeatable Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2003
This is a great pie. Not too sweet! My husband loves maple syrup and pecan pie is his favorite. Love cooking the nuts. Sent this to my sister who is allergic to corn and can't have food with corn products in them.
