About this Cook
I am married and have a daughter. My husband will eat whatever I cook and if he doesn't like it he will say this was OK but don't make it again. I guess he figures if he wants his next meal he won't say this is disgusting.
My favorite things to cook
desserts and lots of them
My favorite family cooking traditions
The only traditional family dinner is New England boiled dinner with Ham, Potatoes, cabbage, carrots and onions covered in water in 1 big pot and cooked on low for 4-5 hours.
My cooking tragedies
We moved into a condo years ago and our landlord came by to say Hello. When he was there I was cooking a meatloaf in an oven I had never used before. The bake and broil knobs were on wrong. Needless to say my meatloaf was in the oven broiling and the grease splattered up and starting smoking so much that the fire alarms started going off. I was really embarrased. My husband figured out the knobs were on wrong.

Swiss Chicken Casserole I
I mixed the milk, soup and stuffing then just poured over chicken breast with the sliced swiss cheese. I put pats of butter over the top and baked. I love to find easy dishes that taste good. I think I will open a can of cranberry sauce the next time I make this.

Homemade Flour Tortillas
These are wonderful....I put the dry ingredients in my food processer pulsed a couple times then added shortening (didn't have lard) and gradually added water. The only problem I had was getting a round tortilla...I had every other shape but round. I will keep practicing.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
I used country style pork ribs because they were on sale and I bought a family size package for under $6.00. I cut the meat away from bone and some of the fat off before throwing in crock pot with rootbeer. Drained liquid, shredded and added a bottle of bbq sauce. This has got to be one of the easiest, cheapest and best tasting recipes around. Just threw some on hamburger buns with thinly sliced onion and pickles.
