Karen A's Chocolate Dump Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2008
very good cake, chocolatey and very quick to throw together. it stays moist and nice after days! I put big chunks of chocolate on top and they didn't melt thoroughly: my kids fought about whose slice had the big piece of choc...

Chunky Cheesecake Brownies

so easy that even my 5 year old could do it, and the result really amazingly good. It stays good for days in the fridge, it even gets better!

Savory Bubble Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2008
hey, I'ashamed: I had read this recipe and remembered vaguely something... then I was obliged to try it just relying on my memory, and no bread machine also! so, it was done by hand, the herbs and spices and cheese were scattered on the surface (oops: didn't remember the part of rolling the pieces in butter and so on). And I didn't wait for 30 min to let it raise: straight into the oven it went. What do you believe? it was a hit! impossible to let alone. I'll do it again, and "regularly" this time: can't wait!

Johnny's Biscuits

Reviewed: May 2, 2008
these were good indeed: nice taste and ready in a jiff! used yogurt instead of buttermilk, and a cake pan instead of iron skillet. Thanks a lot!

Caramel Pecan Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2008
very good cookies! The candy was a bit hard, but the cookie itself is very interesting. My kids loved them.

Wacky Cake IV

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
I must admit I was a bit skeptical... but a great cake it truly is, easy, quick, cheap, and unbelievable! my husband could't believe it had no butter and no eggs. I added candied cherries just to please my little girl but I'm longing to add nuts or a cup of coffee instead of water...

Quick Biscuits

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
the biscuits are not bad at all, but they end up being the most popular recipe around because of the fastness, easiness and simplicity of the whole process. Unexpected guests? last minute whim? no bread anywhere? here you go! I tried plain, with parmesan, with rosemary, onion, parsley, you name it... always good!

Super Duper Zucchini Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
Good way to have my kids eating zucchini! They turned out perfect, moist and light at the same time. I put some cocoa powder, yogurth instead of sour milk (I had to put more than the recipe requested or the batter wouldn't have been manageable), real butter and 2 cups of shredded zucchini. I'll keep this one!

Tangy Buttermilk Cheese Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
this is a good bread! I used the bread machine, did it with smoked provolone: it came as promised, with a cheesy and sour taste. It was very good warm but also toasted the day after.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
these cookies truly deserve 5 stars! they are soft, the right amount of sweet, easy to get together and a good choice even if you are in a hurry but want to make cookies all the same. Everybody loved them, and I can only add that in my home nobody likes peanut butter and they are very picky indeed...

Michelle's Peanut Butter Marbled Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
YUMMY!!! I followed the recipe exactly and the result was great. The only thing I changed, I did not swirl the cup of batter on top, but threw it over the cake just as it was, in spoonfuls. The peanut butter is not too overpowering, which is fine for me. I'll keep this!

Chocolate Chip Snack Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
very simple and sure you can't ask for a quicker way to prepare a cake! Only I don't really understand the grated chocolate in the batter. Well, I wouldn't say this cake is ok for company at a formal dinner, but it goes well with a cup of coffee or a glass of milk. I can add it stays moist and nice (this is the 3rd day...)

Beer Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2008
good rolls, made in the bread machine in no time at all. I was in a hurry and skipped the flattening of the beer sparkle: they were ok just as well. They freeze well, too.

Fondue Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
very pretty and original, perfect for a buffet. I was afraid to put too hot liquid on the yeast (I did it once and the yeast was killed and the bread flat), but it worked out beautifully. Easier than I thougth and no cheese oozing out at all.

Whole Wheat Refrigerator Rolls

wonderful rolls! easy, nice because you can do the heavy work in advance, healthy... I wanted to serve them with speck and Lardo di colonnata, so I threw onion flakes and fennel seeds: very original and my guests were enthusiastic!

Caraway Cheese Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
that's a good one! ready in a flash, and fragrant with cheese, smells heavenly! I was worried about mustard, but the taste was very subtle, you really couldn't detect it. My kid said "we'll keep this!". Next time I'll try with whole wheat flour.

Baked Onion Dip II

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
no stars enough, a huge hit on my Xmas buffet! and no time at all to prepare. The advice of substitute mayo with yogurth or sour cream, a part at least, worked wonderfully well for me. Definitely a keeper!

Cranberry Cheese Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
good recipe, very easy and also healty: with oats, fruits and cheese it's quite a good morning start, but it's ok on every brunch too... My kid suggested a bit of white choc morsels in the streusel, I'll try this.

Mississippi Mud Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2009
very sweet, true, but it's been a big hit in my family. It's good eaten warm and it's good eaten the day after. Don't know about many days after, as it didn't resist so long:-)
