Basic Irish Soda Bread With Cheese

5 stars not enough! I added buttermilk instead of plain milk, and being in a hurry didn't cut the dough into squares, just rolled it into a wheel and put the beaten egg (yes, 1 is enough) on top, with some shredded provolone just dumped on it. After 10 minutes it was ready and I cut it into wedges. Wonderful!!! like a pizza, but no waiting for the dough to rise! Shamefully easy and quick, and I got a lot of praise.

Secret Cake

it really has to cook at least 10/15 min. more than stated; it sure tastes good and it's very easy. Too sweet for my taste, and not chocholatey as I expected (that's why a basically quick and good enough cake gets 4 stars from me...)

Never, Never Fail Pie Pastry

I used butter instead of lard and it was perfect, very easy to work with. I put it in the fridge before rolling and it wasn't sticky at all. Maybe the difference is in the baking powder...

Quick Gnocchi

this recipe is very handy and lets you serve a dish of gnocchi in no time at all. Well, so they are not THE real thing (believe me, I know what I'm talking of, I'm Italian, my mum makes them starting from boiling potatoes an all). But this process is definitely quicker and not so messy!!!

Wacky Cake IV

I must admit I was a bit skeptical... but a great cake it truly is, easy, quick, cheap, and unbelievable! my husband could't believe it had no butter and no eggs. I added candied cherries just to please my little girl but I'm longing to add nuts or a cup of coffee instead of water...

they turned out perfect as promised, I didn't change a thing except the egg wash, which I substituted with milk, brushing them just before baking so that the poppyseeds stay put. Wonderful recipe, so very effortless and quick!

Muddy Chocolate Cheese Cake

I followed the others' reviews and put it in a bigger pan; also, made several holes in the cake instead of a big one in the centre. And served it cold, because there was nobody around when it was warm... I cut it into squares and my kid's friends (they are 11) liked it a lot.

very easy and friendly to assemble, and nice to present. I had them for Xmas dinner, they were good, the kids liked them better than other more sophisticated recipes... so where is the drawback? only, they were nothing to write home about...

Baked Zucchini Squares

the batter was good; I was looking for something lighter than fried zucchini sticks and this is certainly so, even if it doesn't resemble zucchini sticks...I cut the zucchini lenghtwise and it was well all the same. All in all, I'll probably do it again.
