Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2012
they turned out perfect as promised, I didn't change a thing except the egg wash, which I substituted with milk, brushing them just before baking so that the poppyseeds stay put. Wonderful recipe, so very effortless and quick!

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2012
I prefer the traditional rolls, made with yeast and left to rest and rise. BUT this is all right only when you have time:-) if you are in a hurry this is the reciper for you: no resting to speak of and a great result all the same. My kids are not crazy about cinnamon, so I filled the dough with the chocolate of the Easter eggs and the result was quite appreciated!

Easy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2012
I did change it a bit (my daughetr loves candied cherries, and I had nuts instead of almonds, and reduced the coconut increasing teh cranberries instead...). It really allows you to play and comes out amazing!

Maple Pecan Shortbread Squares

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
very good recipe, my kids really appreciated it: and they can eat pecans, which are healthy! I doubled it, because I thought there was no point in baking such a small amount. The quantity is perfect for a 9x13 baking dish really. Definitely a keeper!

Pizza Swirls

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
good for parties, for snacks and my son likes the little swirls for breakfast too... I'm an experienced pizza baker and was really satisfied with these: easier than they may seem, and it's up to you to decide what's best on there... they are pretty, too! tried yesterday for a brunch with friends and I think I'll be repeating for the Xmas buffet, only with a variety of ingredients (ham? mushrooms? anchovies?...) definitely a winner!!!

Turtle Cake I

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2011
the cake is quite great and very easily put together. I used a round 9 inch pan, and think I shuold use a 13x9 next time: the pan seemed too full and I was afraid to have a mess in my oven (I even lined it with aluminium foil to get caramel sauce drippings... which Honestly was not necessary after all). I omitted the butter entirely in the sauce, as it seemed so rich: I must say nobody even realized that butter was missing... if you want to eat it warm, you'll have a cake with caramel sauce. If you wait and have it cold, I guess it would be less saucy and more like a real filling. Maybe cutting a little on the evaporated milk is worth a try.

Pumpkin Crumb Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
it came out prettier than usal crumb cakes, what with the bright orange stripe in the middle and all; and it's been appreciated, it's not overtly sweet and it's quite a good alternative to the usual pie; And with the cake mix, it was ready in minutes:-)

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
I was in a hurry and decided not to use the bread machine and do everything by hand; I got 2 baguettes, you may want to remember that, if you want more the recipe has to be doubled. The whole thing was quite easy; I decided not to do the egg wash passage and didn't brush the loaves with anything, but I don't think they suffered from it... the bread was great warm from the oven (my husband devoured one by himself in a few minute). It was still good after some hours, though, so I'sll definitely keep this one.

Cowboy Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2011
amazing! I really did think I had nothing any more to discover about bread, but I was wrong!! very quick and easy way to prepare bread, and much more thrifty than having the electric oven on to bake it in. The bread itself comes out like pitta bread; it is a bit bland, but you can work around it I suppose. It freezes famously and I think it could also be cut to have a sandwich of sort. thanks for the recipe!

Mound Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
I tried following the recipe to a T, thinking that other reviewers had said this and that and I could always do something different the second time. But it came out perfect, so there's nothing to change for me! one of the fastest, easiest and capturing treats you can ever do! I didn't even bother to mix coconut with condensed milk, but just spooned the coconut and the milk went straight over it from the can itself...

Nairobi Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
good, simple chocolate cake; easy, ingredients you must perforce have in your pantry, and you can't go wrong. It crecked a bit, so I got it out of the oven early and the centre was nicely fudgy

Braided Easter Egg Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
I doubled the recipe and decided no coloured eggs; we just sprinkled with coloured sugar. It needed at least 3 cups of flour more than directed, but otherwise I followed the instruction to a T. It's pretty, so braided, and you look like a great baker:-) it's very good when tepid, tends to get stale very quickly (you can toast it, or make french toast casserole, like I did; but it seems a pity, after all): I used an egg wash, anyway go easy with the oven, 5/10 min less were quite enough for me!

5 stars it truly deserves; I had an only adult dinner and was generous with irish cream, adding a bit more than stated: the taste was not overpowering, I guarantee; got rave reviews, really!

Warm Crab Parmesan Dip

had for a Xmas brunch and everybody was impressed! crab is quite expensive to serve lavishly, but a little bit goes a long way with this recipe. Definitely a keeper.

Chocolate Truffle Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2010
the cookies were heavenly, only not too pretty: I had almost a sheet cake, with a brownie consistency. but we didn't care, my hubby had a raptus and devoured them... maybe I should have left them into the freezer longer?
