Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
Yummmm! I've found I have to double the batch everytime I make these because my family loves them so much. This recipe is the best one I've ever used for several reasons. I think the flavor is perfect, and the topping enhances the banana flavor very well. The baking time is listed works well, although I often use a mini-muffin pan and cut the baking time by 5 minutes. This recipe adapts well! I've made it using all whole wheat flour and applesauce in place of all the butter and they still turned out great! I will be making these again very soon!

Glazed Beef Loaf

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2011
This was excellent, a unanimous favorite among my family of five. I may try it without the cheese sometime just to see if it makes much difference (in order to cut back some of the calories). Otherwise this recipe is perfect exactly as written!

Pineapple Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
I made these in January in Minnesota, so grilling wasn't an option. I will definitely try that one day. My family loved these chicken tenders! It was so easy to prepare and I'm thinking that the possibilities are endless. I served these as chicken tenders with rice and stir-fry vegetables. I would love to try these in kabobs. in a salad, and maybe even in sandwiches. The only thing I would do differently, as another rater suggested, is to marinate longer. I will probably do overnight next time.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
I would rate these a 5 on taste alone, but took away a star because there has got to be a way to make the dough easier to deal with. I had several flat, runny batches (that still tasted incredible) I finally found that if I chilled the dough overnight, then tightly formed the cookie over the top of and around my fingertip, the cookies kept their shape fairly well. I would highly recommend trying these simply because they are delicious but understand that they might not turn out beautiful :)

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
I first made these exactly as the recipe states and my family devoured the entire batch. I tried a second batch, using 1/4 cup corn syrup and 1/4 cup dark molasses, which turned out even better! I made a third batch to share as holiday gifts and I received tons of compliments! I highly suggest using the peanuts, and don't slack on the stirring (every 15 minutes while baking) I will be making these over and over!

Mexican Wedding Cakes II

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
I've enjoyed these cookies since I was a child! I have seen them with other names as well such as Russian Teacakes, Cuban Teas and Snowballs. As far as I can tell, they are all the same. I made these for holiday cookie trays and they were a great addition! I will definitely make these again and again, with the recipe exactly as written.

Dinner in a Pumpkin I

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
This was a huge hit with my family on Halloween night! I did as other reviewers suggested and left out the green beans, but added a little shredded cheddar cheese between layers. Dinner was cooked to perfection in the time it took me to bring my kids trick or treating. The presentation alone cannot be beat but we enjoyed the flavors so much we plan to make again soon!

World's Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2009
This is the best recipe I have ever used. I will definitely make this again! I didn't find it too sweet at all. The only change I will make next time is to use red potatoes. All other potatoes turn out too "mushy" but the reds seem to hold up well while mixing this salad together.

Devil Dogs

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
These were really good! Be careful with the baking times, it is really easy to overbake. Mine turned out a little crunchy at the edges. They still tasted great, but I was hoping for more cakey texture. The batter spreads quite a bit, so provide plenty of space between each drop. I used 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortening simply because I was almost out of shortening. Definitely will make again!

Microwave Lemon Curd

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
This is probably the one recipe here at allrecipes.com that I use the most. It is incredible with fresh lemon juice and zest, but in a pinch I have used bottled juice and skipped the zest. My family and I love it either way! You can use this lemon curd in a lot of different ways: cookie or cake filling, in popovers with whipped cream, try it with the lemon curd bars (recipe on this site) or just eat it plain!!! It is usually fully cooked in 4-6 minutes in my microwave. I highly recommend straining the mixture prior to pouring into jars, in case some small bits of cooked egg whites remain. Do try this recipe, though, you will love it!

Gingerbread Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
This is by far my favorite gingerbread cookie recipe ever! I added quite a bit of extra flour, probably almost 2 cups. Watch your baking time carefully! Cookies are done when you press lightly and the indent springs back. Cook these too long and they will be extremely hard. I love the full flavor and haven't changed a thing.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
Finally a meal my entire family loved! It seems no matter what I make, there is always someone in my family of five who doesn't like what I serve. The recipe was a winner with all, even my uber-picky 9 year old. Will make again and again!

Lemon Curd Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
These bars were excellent! I followed the recipe almost exactly. I omitted the almonds as my family doesn't care for them. I used a lemon curd recipe from this site which yielded about 16 oz. I made two batches. The first one my family gobbled right up. I made the second batch for my husband to share with co-workers and they all raved about these bars!
