Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
Very nice. I didn't want to use all 3T balsamic vinegar, so I used 1T balsamic and 2T rice wine vinegar, which I thought created a nice balance. I'd love to try this with another type of fish. The ginger glaze/sauce was great.

Sesame Parmesan Zucchini

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
Sadly, this didn't turn out as hoped, despite having read the reviews regarding mushy/soggy issues and adjusting the ingredients accordingly. It turned out fairly tasteless. Too many sesame seeds, too much oil, and wrong cooking times/temps - I don't think I'll be making this again, but thank you for letting me try it.

Pumpernickel Rye Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
I was very pleased with the final results - I opted to make this all by hand and bake in the oven as opposed to the bread machine. Nice dense loaf with great texture. It doesn't make a very big loaf, but the size is good enough for smaller sandwiches. Tastes great toasted. Next time, I'll add additional salt. Thank you for posting this recipe!

Heavenly Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
Wonderful end to a great Valentine's Day dinner at home. This is extremely rich, so you don't need a huge serving. I don't have a candy thermometer, but watched very carefully while stirring the egg yolks so as not to have scrambled eggs. Homemade whipped cream is an essential 'topper' as it really helped to cut down on the richness of the mousse. Thank you so much for posting this recipe!

Grilled Tropical Tuna Steaks

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2009
Very nice! We're big tuna steak fans, so I decided to rescue this from my recipe box. The weather warmed up enough for us to grill outdoors, using cedar planks to add additional flavor. We used apricot preserves. I might cut the amount back next time, but all in all, this was a quick, easy dinner served alongside a tossed salad. Thank you for posting this recipe!

Roasted Cauliflower Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
Very good flavor - what I liked most about this recipe is that it is healthy and low fat; just goes to show you don't need the heavy cream, etc. I only used 1 1/2 T of flour and next time, I will omit it altogether as it's not needed. I used a basting/roasting oil that was infused with garlic and herbs - that really enhanced the roasted cauliflower. I also used vegetarian chicken broth and wound up adding more to thin it out a bit. Thank you for posting this recipe, it's great!

Wonderful and easy. I used baby portabella mushrooms and added a tad more garlic. Delish! Thank you for posting this recipe!

Banoffee Pavlova

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
Wow! Talk about impressive! This looks like something you'd buy from an upscale bakery. And to think... I made it! The boyfriend went ga-ga over it - he loves banana and caramel together. The only thing I may do differently next time would be to slightly cut back on the amount of caramel topping; I loved it, but I think I'd love it even more with less. I made homemade whipped cream from this site, also for the first time and that made this so much better than Cool Whip. Thank you so much for posting this recipe! I'll definitely be making this again!

Italian Bread Wedges

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
I loved this - the dough is great to work with and pressing it out into a 14" pizza pan produced the thin crust that we love. Never thought to add the salad dressing, but that really added a new dimension that puts this over the top. I followed the recipe to a "t" and was very happy with the results. I may play around with it the next time I make it. Thanks a bunch for posting this recipe!

Italian Cheese Bread

Excellent flavor! I added garlic powder as per other reviewer's suggestions as well as olive oil to bring it all together. This is even better when toasted! Thank you for posting this recipe!

Italian Pinwheel Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
These are wonderful and very easy to throw together. I need to work on reducing the amount of flour I use so as to produce a lighter roll, but these came out great nonetheless. I forgot to brush the dough with butter before sprinkling on the garlic mixture and instead, just mixed it all together and spread it on; sort of like making cinnamon buns. The aroma, oh... the aroma! A great accompaniment to an Italian meal. Thank you so much for posting this recipe!

We enjoyed this a lot. Easy to throw together; this is nice when you don't feel like having your standard tomato sauce over pasta.

Oatmeal Pancakes II

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
These were okay, but did require some modifications. I followed LDYLVBGR's lead with the brown sugar, baking soda and cinnamon measurements/additions. These don't stand out enough for me to make again, but it's always nice to try something different. Thank you for posting this recipe!

Browned Brussels Sprouts with Orange and Walnuts

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
I totally love brussels sprouts and this recipe is worthy of a second chance. It takes a lot longer to cook them than stated. But, I really love the idea and taste of the orange paired with the sprouts. Thank you for this recipe!
