Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
The easiest scalloped potatoes recipe I've made! I love the fact that it's not loaded with dairy products. I sauteed my onions in the butter and then added the flour to make the roux. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Sun's Korean Marinating Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Definite keeper! I went a little lighter on the sugar, but don't be afraid to use it as the end result is surprisingly mildly sweet. Almost a smoky flavor. I let the tuna marinade for about an hour and 20 minutes and used black sesame seeds for toasting. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Ron's Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
Great marinade! I love the lemon/lime combination - I added these to a Pasta Primavera dish (Food Network's Giada De Laurentiis) I made for dinner and it was wonderful. I'm so glad to have found this recipe... Thank you! 5-31-10 UPDATE: We made this again last night and couldn't stop talking about it. This is one of the best grilled shrimp recipes on AR! Every flavor is present in each bite - please try this, you won't be disappointed. And, thank you once again, Ron, for sharing this winner of a recipe!

PHILLY Bavarian Apple Torte

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
Perfect dessert to impress your guests. Even Mom. In celebration of MY Mom's birthday, I cooked dinner for her today and finished it off with this beautiful dessert. I nixed the almonds and drizzled caramel sauce over each piece. She loved it!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
I can see why these rolls are so popular. The dough is so soft and silky. This carries over to the final product; very light and airy. I loved working with this recipe and will also use it to make sweet rolls. Thank you for sharing this recipe; it's a keeper!

Cheese Garlic Biscuits II

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
Not on my list to make again. I think some measurements need to be revised; they turned out underdone, even after I increased the baking time. Taste was not up to par, I opted not to eat it after the first two bites. The topping, on the other hand, was wonderful. Thank you for letting me try.

Dee's Health Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
This is what I've been looking for! Absolutely wonderful in taste, ease of preparation and in handling/working with the dough. I used oatmeal instead of cracked wheat, but kept everything else the same. I can't say enough good things about this recipe! This will surely be placed in my list of top 5 bread recipes. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

Hearty Oatmeal Loaf

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
5 stars all the way. I put this on the dough cycle of my bread machine, then shaped and let it rise about 40 minutes. Didn't want to open up a whole carton of apple juice, so opted for applesauce instead.(Thanks to those of you who mentioned using it) I would never have thought of using the applesauce, so I learned something today! Will most definitely use this recipe again; the taste is so very good. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Triangular Delights

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
The recipe submitter is right... these ARE a great healthy snack. 10 minutes was spot on for my oven. I did add a little bit of sea salt to mine. Using a round pizza pan with holes worked out well for making these so crispy. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Christmas Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
This is phenomenal. I love the combination of chocolate, cherries and bananas. I used bittersweet chocolate chips which gave this a deep dark chocolate flavor. I omitted the nuts, but will definitely try adding them next time. Although very easy to make, this bread gets props for its festive appeal/look; it's not your average banana bread. Thank you for sharing this recipe - this will be great for the holidays!

Curried Zucchini Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
Okay, but it needs something and I'm stumped as to what I could add to make this a 5 star recipe. The suggestion about adding sour cream is a smart idea - that helped considerably. Thanks for letting me try.

Cyndi's Shrimp Fajitas

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
Easy to throw together for a quick dinner. I would have liked more "oomph" as it tasted somewhat plain. Perhaps a longer marinade time or additional seasonings would do the trick. I loved the addition of corn and zucchini to the fajitas - never thought of doing that, but will include those next time I make fajitas. Great way to get in those veggies! Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Pseudo Sourdough for the Bread Machine

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
Not crazy about the flavor of this. I wanted tang, but it wasn't even noticeable to us. Still, an okay white bread recipe. Thanks for letting me try.

Mexican Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
These are easier to make than you might think... I don't care for shortening, so opted for canola oil instead. This recipe yielded 25 tortillas for me, not the 18 listed. I'll try all white flour next time. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Braided Egg Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
I proofed my yeast with the sugar/water first instead of throwing it in with the flour since that's how I'm used to baking bread. I didn't read some of the reviews until afterwards and wished, as some recommended, that I had added an additional egg. Very light and fluffy, almost too fluffy. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Puttanesca or Kalamata Kwik Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
I'm in the minority here as we found this to be inedible. Left a bad aftertaste in the mouth. I had such high hopes as I love all of the ingredients in this recipe. Thank you for letting me try!

Creamy Caramel Flan

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
Exquisite! Looks sooo fancy once plated. I was getting nervous with the sugar, but hung in there and soon, those "chunks" of sugar turned into a beautiful caramelized liquid. I was prepared to work fast once it was ready to be poured into the pan, but as others noted, my anxiety was all for naught as it works out in the end. But,there definitely should be a note in the recipe that speaks to warming the pan/dish before pouring the sugar in. My anxiety was soon alleviated when I inverted the flan and it all came out beautifully! I don't care that it's not the "real" thing; this is one beautiful dessert! Thank you for allowing me to try and for sharing this beauty!

Greek Salad I

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
I'm glad to have tried this, but will most likely seek out other dressing recipes as this was quite bland(as noted by several other reviewers). I did like it's simplicity, though. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Very good considering this was my first time at making homemade calzones. Next time, I'll make 4 smaller ones as they were HUGE; I saved what I didn't eat for lunch tomorrow. I also think I'd like more cheese filling. I used mushrooms, onions, and diced tomatoes and instead of basil, used italian seasoning and garlic powder. Adding additional types of cheeses suits this well - I chose mozzarella, parmesan, and the ricotta. Thank you for sharing this recipe!
