Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2012
AWESOME cookies! Peanut butter and chocolate never tasted so good together! It's helpful if you have a large mini muffin pan with more than 12 dents. It helps to freeze the cups before and after you unwrap them. Thanks for the great recipe!

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2012
Awesome brownies! I think they taste even better than box mix brownies. And they're so easy, too! The only thing I did was add a splash of milk for easier consistency because the batter was a bit thick. Another hint: The brownies taste best the day they were made. Thanks for the great recipe!

Bessy's Zesty Grilled Garlic-Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2012
This chicken is very sweet and flavorful! It also has a nice, crisp outside. I ommited the saffron as many others did and put it all into a large ziploc bag, letting it marinate for about 3 hours in the refrigerator. This is my new favorite chicken marinade recipe!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2012
Awesome crust! It was light and crunchy. It would be great to add some flavoring if you wanted a flavored crust. I think you have to avoid l kneading the dough so that it stretches out too thin on the bottom. I made one pepperoni pizza and one with ham, onions, and some garlic cloves on top for extra flavor.

Trail Mix Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2012
These taste awesome! They combine applesauce, cinnamon, chocolate, craisins and oats wonderfully. I omitted the walnuts, and the batter made 34 cookies. I just couldn't get the egg whites to mix in with the applesauce mixture at first, but they mixed in well later. Everyone loved them, they're my new favorite healthy cookie!

Pita Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2012
Awesome chips! They're also a snap to make. I didn't use chervil and made my own garlic salt (3 parts salt to 1 part garlic powder). I used slightly large whole- wheat pita pockets so they needed longer baking time to be crispy. Once they were they were awesome with the spinach dip I served them with!

Spicy Lime Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2012
Awesome shrimp recipe! It was pretty spicy and had lots of flavor everyone liked. I had a pound of 29 shrimp and marinated it for about 7 hours, then put them on sticks and grilled them. The taste depends pretty much on what Cajun seasoning you are using and how much. I used less than three tablespoons and it was still pretty spicy. Thanks for the great recipe!

Unbelievably Good Fruit Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2012
Awesome fruit dip! Makes fruit even tastier, if that's possible. I served it with strawberries, pineapple, blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries; I'm sure it would be great with lots of other fruit too! Very easy to make. I discovered that you can't mix it by hand, and switched to an electronic mixer, and refrigerated for about one hour. The reason you can get a bumpy texture is because the cream cheese isn't softened enough. When it's colder than the other ingredients, they don't mix well. Great recipe!

Chocolate Syrup

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2012
Great syrup! I made this with Splenda for sugar-free chocolate milk. It mixes great with the milk, especially since it isn't very thick. Thanks for the recipe!

Chocolate Chip Meringue Drops

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2012
These are tasty little meringues. We've made them before and they were great. Whoever said they worked with Splenda must have done something different than me because mine didn't work out very well with it. The batter lost its fullness and only made about 34 drop- bite- tiny- size cookies, and also had a little aftertaste. They work much better with real sugar; a real melt- in- your mouth delight!

Smashed Cauliflower

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2012
Yum! This recipe tastes "better than the best mashed potatoes!" It has a great cheesy flavor and texture. Its best if you drain most of the liquid, not all, after cooking the cauliflower, before adding the butter and cheeses. This makes it not too runny. I mashed it until the cheese was melted and then blended it in a blender, giving it a smooth texture. I used cheddar and asiago cheese. Everyone loved it and appreciated how healthy it is. Great recipe!

Lemon Star Bursting Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2012
These cookies are great! They have a nice, lemony flavor. I did have a bit of a problem with them crumbling, but they still tasted great. birdluv4ever, your reviews and pictures are awesome! I found your profile and added you to "Cooks I Like". I saw that you did the same. I also voted all of your reviews helpful because they are. It looks like you're off to a great start with baking! My only question: Who is in the background of your picture of the corn dog bites?

David's Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2012
I'm sure this cake would be five-star-worthy if made properly. It was good, but the texture ended up grainy and cornbread- like for me. To avoid this, you must use an electric mixer to beat the batter for at least a few minutes. Good recipe, though!

Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2012
Awesome soup! Very filling and is like medicine when you're feeling sick. I substituted the bouillon cubes and water for two boxes of Swanson's chicken broth and omitted the bay leaf. The marjoram gave it a lot of flavor. I reduced the amount of celery to 1/2 cup and increased the carrots to 1/2 cup. I put it all in a crock pot and simmered for about four hours. I would recommend sauteing the celery, carrots, and onions first and then adding to the crock pot if cooking this way. Wonderful, home-style recipe!

Chocolate Frozen Yogurt

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2012
Wonderful frozen yogurt! It was very creamy and delicious. I changed a few things per other reviewers suggestions. I added more cornstarch and a tablespoon of coco powder, and reduced the amount of sugar. I also used low- fat vanilla yogurt and omitted the vanilla. I didn't have an ice cream maker so I froze it in a metal bowl, whisking every 30 minutes until it was creamy, as another person suggested. The ice cream had the consistency of pudding before it was frozen. Great recipe!

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2012
This fudge is fantastic! I made it without the nuts and it was rich and chocolaty. I would suggest boiling on a heat lower than high, so that the mixture doesn't burn. This will in turn make the heating time longer, maybe 7 minutes as others have said. Will make again!

Chocolate Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2012
Wonderful muffins! They are moist and chocolaty, they taste a bit like cupcakes. They're also great with whipped cream. I used 1 cup of chocolate chips because they needed more, and replaced half of the flour with whole wheat flour and 1/3 sugar with splenda to make them healthier. Great recipe!

Chocolate Hazelnut Fruit Crepes

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2012
Wonderful crepes! Chocolate hazelnut with the fruit and slightly crispy crepe creates an unforgettable taste. I used store- bought crepes- which I'm sure are less good to homemade ones, but still taste good nonetheless- and filled them with bananas with strawberries. I found the medium heat was too high to heat for 90 seconds, I think medium low might work better. Wonderful recipe!

Cherry Kisses

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2012
This is a great recipe. These are very light , crispy, and sweet! Since I couldn't find candied cherries (maybe I have to candy them myself?) and I didn't want prunes or nuts then I made them plain. I let them cool and them added a cherry filling to make macaroons. Those were hard to eat and very sweet! I would recommend making this recipe with the walnuts and cherries, using a dark pan, and piping them out with a plastic bag in small portions, because they do get bigger! These are perfect for a tea party or just a light treat. Thanks for the recipe!
