Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2013
I used this as a guideline since I only had some of the ingredients. I used golden mushroom and mushroom garlic soups plus a can of chicken broth (no wine). Only had onion soup mix, so I used that and added some garlic powder, oregano, rosemary, marjoram, and 2/3 of a brick of cream cheese. I cut up the chicken since I have kids, and it cooked faster.

Chicken Souvlaki Gyro Style

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2013
yum! I used balsamic vinegar and oil as substitute. I peeled the cucumber, and stuck it in the blender, and just squeezed the water from them. (didn't salt them) and I didn't used the greek seasoning, as I didn't have any. I also precut the chicken, before marinating, and broiled it. Everything was great and everyone ate it! Thanks!

Spaetzle I

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2013
Idk if I did something wrong, but I couldn't get it to push through anything! The flavor was fine.(I tediously pinched off tiny bits) Is the dough supposed to be dry or runny? This was my first attempt at making this, so I'm def going to try the recipe again, but hope to either find a cheap spaetzle maker, or beg my German gma to show me how she does it next time I see her. lol

Lemon Pasta Sauce

good base to have as is or get creative with. I didn't have lime but had everything else. I added garlic powder to the cream sauce and sauteed an orange bell pepper, zucchini, garlic, frozen cauliflower, and a parsnip. S/p, lemon juice/zest and it was a hit !Thanks for the recipe!

Naan

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2012
I don't think I've ever had naan, so I have nothing to compare it to. I know the family liked it, and that's what is important, but... I thought it tasted like pizza crust. Not that pizza crust is bad, just not what I was imagining. I'm sure I'll make it again, but maybe try the baking soda?

Aunt Anne's Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2012
I made extra topping using equal parts white/brown sugars. I was low on milk so sub'd 1/2 &1/2, as well as adding a few dashes of cinnamon in the mix. Def used a smaller pan!! Did a powdered sugar icing to top it off. increased baking time to 30 min. Perfecto!

Meatless Lasagna

Reviewed: May 3, 2012
great recipe! I tend to shred my carrots and zuch, though. easier to hid them from the kids! no mushrooms here but did add some chopped artichokes. Oh and I used thyme, and oregano on top of the other spices called for, then added some parm and parsley to the ricotta mixture. Yum! Thanks!!

Mom's Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2012
good base recipe. seems bland as written (for my family at least). I don't measure so I just used whatever I had and adjusted it. I added lots of other spices, ommitted green onions, subbed plain yogurt for sour cream since that's all I had. Mixed that in with noodles, topped with meat sauce. I didn't have any cheddar either, so used parm. turned out great!

Greek Lemon Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2012
love this recipe! Hubs loves it too. I used one chicken cube bullion in place of the base, because it's what I had. I followed a few other comments about cutting the egg yolks down to 4. I thought it tasted just fine. Oh and I used a box of the chicken broth, I think it was the 48oz, and added 2c water, so I don't think it was too salty at all.
