Tender Pan-Fried Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2012
This is the tastiest and fastest recipe's ever! I made these in just about 40 minutes. I cut the chicken breasts into four pieces, smaller than the recipe, but the chicken cooks faster this way. I reduced the recipe to just two chicken breasts because it was mainly just for me - mom tried it and loved the taste. I don't have mustard or tarragon and so I used cayenne pepper & sweet paprika instead. The oregano taste pops out in this recipe. I'll definitely be making this again and again!

Apple Turnovers

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2012
Don't make the same mistakes I did! First, be sure to thaw the puff pastry for just 20 minutes, then cut them into the 8 squares- and make sure to place the ones you arent working with in the freezer as you work to put the mixture in each square. The puff pastry does 'melt' just as other people have rated. Also, cut your apples into small squares, not into slices. Otherwise, the apples won't stay put in the square. Use much less sugar, at least 1/2 less. Use light brown sugar, not dark brown sugar (recipe did not specify). Lastly, spray nonstick cooking spray before baking. The recipe did not specify and I figured it didn't need it, and boy was i wrong!

Chef John's Crab Cakes

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
Great Recipe! I loved how the filling was light & not too much- I could taste the crab meat! I will try this recipe again using salmon.

Cherry Crumble

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2012
I followed the recipe exactly, except for one thing: I used fresh pitted cherries and not the canned stuff. I think this made the filling VERY DRY! I tried to fix it up as another reviewer mentioned (adding flour and lemon juice) but it did not work. I have no idea what I should have done to make the filling more soft and moist (like the canned stuff) but i was sorely disappointed.

Raspberry Lemon Muffins

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
Excellent! I used fresh raspberries (actually i put them in the freezer for just 1 hour before using it). I also used two small packages of raspberries from the supermarket (on sale). Because they were not frozen solid, it took an extra 10 minutes in the oven. Thank you for the recipe!

Banana Nut Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2012
This is a fantastically delicious cake! I did not make the frosting because I normally don't care for frosting. Besides, after making the cake, the cake was very moist that it didn't need frosting anyway. I used four (on the large size) ripe banana's. I needed to do something with the banana's before they got bad. One thing I wish i had done was read the recipe more than twice- I didn't realize I had to wisk the egg whites :( It took me at least 1/2 hour to do it by hand (my mixture was already in the Kenmore mixer).

Gnocchi with Sage-Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2012
This is a very simple recipe for a dish that's very tasty! I used the real Parmigiano Reggiano for this dish- and I used at least 3/4 cup freshly grated. I also used 3 tbsp's butter (not 4, as was in the recipe). In fact, when I make this again, I'll use just 2 tbsp's, because that's all it really needed. I used oregano and basil, instead of sage (don't care for the taste).
