I guess you could call me a foodie. I'm particularly fond of ethnic cuisine, especially Indian, Moroccan and Thai food. I could spend hours leafing through cookbooks. Food inspires me and is how I express my creativity.
My favorite things to cook
I love using my Dutch Oven for braising, baking, simple summer salads and I make an excellent roast chicken. One of my guilty pleasures is rice krispie treats! I've started playing with flavor profiles adding cardamom and toasted coconut.

Growing up we always made cookies for holidays. Baking was something my Mom and I did together.
My cooking triumphs
I can't think of just one milestone but I can say, I'm a very good baker and this year, I've discovered how to cook minus a recipe. I'm learning the balance of salt, acid and oil.
My cooking tragedies
I burned oven mitts! Yes, in my first apartment out of college, I didn't realize the broiler was what I thought was the storage drawer. Or the time, I decided to pan sear a roast.
