Deliver big macs to your apartment in Korea!

Have you ever had a big mac delivered to your house? As far as I know, McDonald’s offers delivery service in Manhattan, NY. However, I have not seen any other mcdelivery in Atlanta, where I lived for three years. Delivery systems for many chain restaurants is not quite efficient and plausible in the United States due to the huge land area.

South Korea, on the other hand, is a perfect place for delivering food. The area of South Korea is about the same size as Kentucky or Indiana. Half of South Koreans live in Seoul or on the outskirts of Seoul. Due to the high population rate around Seoul, almost everyone lives in apartments of at least 20 stories. Since everything is compact, delivery systems are more efficient in South Korea. Koreans are very fast paced people and don’t like to wait for something, so people place an order while working or on the go and start eating once the food arrives.

Popular delivery food items are pizza, chicken, Chinese noodles, and jokbal (marinated pig’s feet). Since Koreans love delivered food, McDonald’s launched a mcdelivery service in 2007. It is very convenient and easy to deliver food in Korea, so you must have food delivered when you are in Korea (at least for the experience of having a Big Mac brought to you)! It is interesting that most delivery food items are western or Chinese food, but very Koreanized. Pizza, Chicken, and Chinese noodles in Korea are very
different from the original in taste and appearance. Korean style pizza is full of toppings like steak, pork ribs, and bulgogi. Koreans put soy garlic sauce, sweet and spicy sauce on fried chicken as well as baked chicken. All of my American friends who came to Korea LOVED Korean chicken! After listing all delicious delivery foods, I’ve got to call a chicken restaurant for delivery now.
