Our Friend's Birthday
Jul. 28, 2012 8:23 am
Today, we are going to celebrate our friend Dave's birthday. I am taking an appetizer and a dessert. Of course, I still need to go to the grocery store, but I have time. When you are retired, you find that you finally have time. Usually there is no rush.
I am fixing a great dip recipe. It's not low fat in any way, but never-the-less, it is one of our favorites. Here we go...first recipe submission in this blog.
1 can of petite shrimp
1 bar of cream cheese
1 c mayonaise (NOT that other stuff!)
1/2 c finely diced celery
1/4 c finely sliced green onion
2 T lemon juice
Soften the cream cheese. Combine the mayonaise and cream cheese until smooth and luscious (you can use a hand mixer if you want..makes it easier)! Stir in the lemon juice, celery, onion. Fold in the shrimp! Serve with chips...I like potato chips with it!
This is delicious...I assure you. I will try to upload a picture of this dip at some time.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAVE!!!
