Fire Roasted Tomato and Feta Pasta with Shrimp

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2006
This was an excellent recipe! A welcome change. I did use a few more shrimp and cut them in half to better distribute them. It made far more than two servings. At least 3 if not 4 depending on the appetite. I did have a hard time finding the fire roasted tomatoes, but I'm glad I did. This would have been very bland without them. Thanks!!!!

Chili con Carne I

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2004
My husband and I both agreed that this was one of the worst chili recipes we've ever tried. I followed the recipe as directed but WAY too thick and bitter. I even tried to "doctor" it up, but it still was terribly bitter. Sorry!

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
These were AMAZING!! I've made scones from another recipe on this site, but these are the best. As others recommended, I put the flour mixture (after adding the butter) in the freezer for a few minutes so the butter could re-harden. I also found it to be very important to spoon the flour into the cup, and to sift it as the recipe says. You can't overmix them, or they will be crumbly. I added dried cherries and a little vanilla and almond extract. We LOVED them!! I've given the recipe away to others already. Thanks for this one!

Simple Salmon Chowder II

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
I made this for my husband the other night and we LOVED it!! Can't see, though how this could be 8 servings unless you serve in cups. It's more like 6 servings. Anyway, we think it would also be good with canned salmon or scallops or clams or any seafood. I'm going to experiment in the future. Thanks for the recipe!

Spiced Pickled Beets

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
A guy at work gave my husband some fresh beets from his garden. I had NO idea what to do with them. But I tried this and another recipe from this site, and both were excellent. I'm not a big fan of pickled beets, but these were delish! Thanks.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2005
I've been making these scones for a few months now. My husband loves one for his coffee break and my sons are always asking me to make them for them, too. I've given this recipe to friends who also love them. They're easy and fabulous!! I've made them with dried cherries and almond extract, with slivered almonds, lemon poppyseed (especially good!), any way I can. Thank you for sharing!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
I served this soup for guests and everyone loved it. I used too much salt, though (my fault, I used more than the recipe suggested), but otherwise it was GREAT! I also went with Better Than Boullion instead of the boullion crystals. Added a lot of flavor. I will definitely make this again, and maybe add cheese next time.

Never Enough Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
I make this casserole all the time. We love it! It's such a nice change from the ordinary green bean casserole. The cheese adds a lot of flavor. Thanks for a great recipe!

Roasted Beets with Feta

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
I've never cooked fresh beets before. So I printed two recipes from allrecipes, and both were great! I do think this is my favorite. They were wonderful! I don't know what took me so long to try them. Thanks

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
This recipe is DELICIOUS!! I did replace 1/2 the oil for applesauce. Next time I will replace it all with applesauce. It was great! I also used less sugar as some suggested. And I used half brown and half white sugar. I also used pecans instead of walnuts. I will definitely make again. My son thought it would be great with cream cheese frosting. It's a thought.

Salsa Chicken Burrito Filling

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2005
I tried this recipe yesterday for a large crowd. It was EXCELLENT!! I cooked a double batch in a slow cooker on high for a few hours, and the meat just fell apart. Very tasty and easy. We had it with chopped onions, lettuce and tomatoes and real Mexican cheese. Will make it again!

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2005
I made these for my husband and he thought they were great. I only made one and still had leftovers (they're huge!). I think I'll take the advice of one person and make smaller ones next time, and also use a little more ricotta. They needed a little more filling. Could use garlic, too. But all in all, this is a super recipe. Thanks!

Taco Soup III

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2005
Very good. Taste's alot like a taco. I felt it was a little too thick, and when I watered it down, it became a littles less flavorful. Any suggestions? Also good with tortilla chips crumbled on top.

The Best Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2005
This is a wonderful, simple basic meatloaf!! I've been married 32 years and have never been able to make a good meatloaf. My husband loved this! I did use the crushed crackers, as one person suggested, and I added garlic. (Nothing should be without garlic). Definitely a keeper. THANKS!!!
