I'm married to a wonderful man who is a very picky eater and have one beautiful daughter who eats only bottles so far! I love to cook and am hoping that I can coax my husband into trying more new foods so that we can eventually enjoy good meals as a family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother is an excellent baker and every Christmas makes an assortment of both Italian and Ukranian cookies using fresh ingredients, even now that she lives in the Southwest where they are hard to find. I hope to continue this tradition and create happy holiday memories for my little girl.
My cooking triumphs
I make a fantastic mac-and-cheese--not very high-brow but everyone loves it! Also, having been a vegetarian for about 8 years (no longer) I perfected a "cheatloaf" recipe that was soo delicious and such a good imposter that some people refused to eat it, believing it was really meat.
My cooking tragedies
I tried my hand at an Indian curry dish for a book club meeting--it's a cuisine I am unfamiliar with cooking and my flavors didn't quite meld as they should have. I hope to improve my ability to cook different cuisines than those I grew up making or seeing other people make.
